Heroku is seeking a dynamic and experienced Developer Advocate who will inspire, delight, and engage the developer community to design and build innovative apps on Heroku. This is a critical role in helping shape our content strategy and outreach to developer communities to increase awareness of Heroku and drive adoption of the platform. You will bridge between our product and engineering teams and the developer community - creating technical content, speaking at events, gathering feedback, and helping developers be successful with Heroku.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will help shape our developer marketing strategy and presence within the developer community as part of Heroku's global go-to-market. You will collaborate within Heroku Marketing to create a robust technical content creation and delivery roadmap aligned to our marketing strategy in support of achieving our business goals. You will collaborate cross functionally with developer advocates and technical evangelists across the Salesforce portfolio with opportunities for joint use cases.
You will have demonstrable experience with storytelling and narrative development that breaks down deep technical concepts into easy to understand demos and articles. You will represent the needs of the developer community back to the Heroku technology and GTM teams. You will work closely with key stakeholders in Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, Partner, and Professional Services to design an engaging technical content journey for developers.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in developer relations, engineering, technical marketing, product management, or sales engineering.
Proven track record of successful marketing to developers and is a recognized evangelist in the Salesforce ecosystem.
Deep knowledge of Salesforce products, Salesforce developer tooling, and general developer technology ecosystem
Demonstrated capacity for building influence, forming collaboration, and driving success within a large, matrixed organization.
Excellent storytelling and communication skills in creating and delivering compelling narratives as talks or technical demos to a range of internal and external audiences.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for engaging with communities.
Ability to use data and analytics to drive decision-making as well as a consistent track record of setting and delivering against measurable marketing metrics
