What is a Solution Engineer?
Also known as a "Presales Consultant," "Sales Consultant," or "Sales Engineer", our team is looking for curious candidates with a real passion for technology to join our Solution Engineering team. We are deeply passionate about customer success, our technology, solutions and our business. We deliver strategies and solutions that fuel growth by capturing the C-Suite's mind share, budget, and wallet share in every account: accelerating new customers, growing deals and extending the platform.

We partner with our sales team to drive new business and help companies reach their growth goals. While selling value is our main focus, we intend to engage in discussions around process improvement and best practices to help our customers succeed. Your role as a Solution Engineer
The Solution Engineering team is organized into several industry and specialist teams based on industry they are selling into, in this case we are looking fora Solution Engineer in our Manufacturing team.

A typical day of a Solution Consultant consists of the following:

  • Liaise with your sales counterpart "on eye level" to develop new/existing businesses or account strategy.
  • Lead discovery sessions with your customers to understand/identify pain points as a basis to build an innovative solution based on the Salesforce technology stack.
  • Clearly articulate the value of Salesforce to customers at all levels, examples include; Administration/IT Staff, managers and "C" level executives.
  • Create memorable positive experiences for your customers, using empathy, story telling, immersive demo techniques, etc.
  • Leverage your technicals skills to build innovative art of the possible demo solutions and establish a trusted relationship to the technical stakeholders on customer side.
  • Orchestrate an extended Solution Consulting team while building e.g. Multi-Cloud solutions for the customer.
  • Use your business knowledge to identify Manufacturing challenges and trends and develop tailored Salesforce value propositions
  • Represent Salesforce during Marketing or Partner Events (e.g. Industry demos, industry specific discussions/use cases).
  • Have a strong interest in growing your career and participating in our internal training programs and mentorship initiatives.

Personality Attributes/Experience:

This role is perfect for someone who likes to work with people, is able to think strategically, interested in technology / digitalisation, interested in continuous learning and has an understanding of what challenges our customers are facing today.

  • Track record of presales / solution engineering, consultancy, product management or software delivery preferable in a context of complex enterprises.
  • Understanding the unique business requirements of customers and translating/presenting those needs into a compelling vision and roadmap for our customers.
  • Ability to translate customers' needs into a compelling vision and roadmap.
  • Solid oral, written, presentation, communication and relationship skills.
  • Good and empathetic listener, laser-focused on customer success.
  • Proven time management skills in a dynamic team environment.
  • Ability to work as part of a team to solve problems in dynamic, energizing environments.
  • Inquisitive, practical and passionate about technology.
  • Mindset of curiosity: likes to be the first to know something and why and how things happen.
  • Good at explaining ideas and finding ways to keep people's attention.
  • Willing and able to travel
  • Related Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience
  • Fluent German & English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • This role is focused on the Manufacturing industry so prior experience in this vertical is preferable but not mandatory.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other leading business applications is preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years working experience with large-scale, high-volume SaaS, PaaS, or other cloud provider environments
