Overview of the Role

Salesforce Professional Services is seeking innovative Project Managers/Senior Managers who share our vision of bringing the power of cloud computing to enterprises. Project Managers are driving successful customer outcomes with our implementations and lead and run complex, enterprise and strategic projects. As a Sr. Project/Program manager, you will lead and guide our highly skilled and collaborative project teams, both non-technical and technical consultants, along with managing relationships, deliverables, and outcomes. Our Project/Program Managers are also domain experts who actively participate in the project, managing customer relationships, delivery methodology, scoping, contracts review, knowledge transfer, and financials. Your industry/client-service experience within the Public Sector (Federal, State/Local, Higher Education, K-12 Education, Nonprofit organizations) will equip you to serve our customers in our portfolio.

Your Impact

  • Serve as the overall leader of the project team and exhibit excellent leadership skills in forming a team, ensuring strong communication channels, giving clarity, motivation and direction to the team throughout the engagement.
  • Be the primary customer interface and perform project management activities that ensures adherence to Salesforce methodology and project gates and governance.
  • Build and lead project plans; supervise and review project progress and timelines; adjust schedules and plans as needed; ensure on time and on budget delivery of projects and identify and resolve issues to ensure project success. Lead project team through all project phases.
  • Supervise project resources in alignment with team member allocation and budget.
  • Lead one or two large projects requiring complex cross-functional teamwork and management across workstreams or at a program level.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering and assist with crafting project deliverables, and Salesforce documentation as needed.
  • Being an extension to the account team to extend the Salesforce footprint.
  • Participate in end to end implementation planning including project management, risk & issue management, communication and business organisational change.
  • Facilitate User Acceptance Testing with business end users including coordination and user acceptance sign-off.

Required Qualifications

  • + 10 years in project management, including experience handling external client projects.
  • Experience managing remote and distributed teams.
  • Ability to balance the business and technical requirements to produce a project plan and collaborate to acquire the information, such as estimates, as input to the project plan.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, with direct responsibility for running project teams, up to 10+ people, budget and schedule.
  • Fluency in a variety of systems and tools, including: Smartsheet, Lucid, Google Workspace, Microsoft suite
  • Demonstrated ability to have difficult conversations; act as a trusted advisor to clients.
  • Proven history of delivering high quality results on schedule and within budget, managing a budget of at least 500K+.
  • Outstanding and effective interpersonal skills; along with strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, high energy, distributed team-oriented environment.
  • Project Management Methodology Certification such as PMP, SAFe, Scrum.
  • Available to travel regionally and occasionally internationally depending on customer needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Salesforce.com Certifications (Admin, Sales, Service, Marketing, etc.) preferred but not necessary
  • Experience with business /industry experience in one or more sectors within our Public Sector Portfolio: Federal, State/Local, Higher Education, K-12 Education, Nonprofit organizations
  • Experience working with multiple vendors, including contracting intermediaries between service providers and clients.

  • COMPOSURE: Strong customer-facing communication and the ability to support complex engagements.
  • EXPERTISE: Solid grasp of industry-standard methodologies and implementation experience of the Salesforce product suite.
  • CREDIBILITY: Able to harmonize with various levels of an organization.
  • CONSULTATIVE: Able to lead high-powered workshops and effectively tailor messaging based on the audience and subject matter.
  • LEARNER: Has a passion for continued education in new technologies and complex business and technical concepts.
  • PASSION: Passionate about Customer Success and our Public Sector clients.
  • URGENCY: Ability to move fast and drive business value and results.
  • TRUST: Ability to earn the trust of the customer and become a trusted advisor.
