Position Summary:

The Senior Interior Designer is responsible for leading interior design projects on behalf of the ownership group. Ensuring that designs are innovative, functional, and aesthetically pleasing. This role involves collaborating with architects, contractors, and vendors to create spaces that align with the design/user goals of RCG, budget constraints, and design standards.

Manages projects of all sizes and levels of complexity and provides project team leadership. Will develop and review design solutions in the best interest of RCG brand(s) and primary market users. Responsibilities begin at the schematic design phase, once planning and initial architectural concepts are approved by ownership. Participates in the interior design control of projects during the schematic design, design development, construction document, and supervision phases. Is familiar and involved during procurement efforts. Provides direction to lower-level interior designers. Responsible for project budget management and cost control within the interior design context.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Owns the development & implementation of RCI Brand & A&D Standards
  • Exhibit understanding of leadership in the architectural design process and integration of standalone interior projects and design concepts.
  • Lead interior design efforts and project teams including design direction to ID consultant team on
  • Use graphic storytelling to advance the project delivery and scope.
  • Participate in marketing efforts, lead design presentations to RCG leadership team, and develops successful ID consultant relationships.
  • Prepare in-house presentation packages
  • Develop RFPs, review bids, and recommend contracts for 3rd party ID consultants
  • Review ID consultant work for accuracy, omissions, legibility, and document compliance in accordance with the Project Delivery Manual.
  • Lead design reviews, charettes, and pin-ups.
  • Demonstrate strong and effective communication and direction which inspires high team performance and design ideas.
  • Be accountable for effective coordination with consultants and RCG Product Development team throughout the entire project

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills:

Over 10 years of professional experience required and bachelor's degree in interior design recommended. Certification as a licensed professional is preferred but not required.
  • A pprofessional degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
  • 10+ years of related experience within hospitality, Retail / Dining / Entertainment (RDE), theme park projects
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling, visualization, and graphic software; Revit strongly preferred.
  • Strong design portfolio
  • Strong competency in interior design specifications, calculations, industry standards, and application of building codes (IBC).
  • Advanced knowledge in programming, planning, and site analysis.
  • Experience in all phases and aspects of a project.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • NCIDQ preferred
  • Ability to travel (required)
