The Royal Caribbean Group's Analytics team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time reporting to the Senior Manager, Data Solutions Engineering reporting to Senior Director, CTO Data Platforms & Applications.

The Senior Manager, Data Solutions Engineering is a technical manager who is responsible for leading the data engineering functions by delivering enterprise curated data solutions that enables our enterprise-wide Data and AI platform to drive business value and customer success. S/He will lead the Data Engineering team on the reservation modernization project for the next 36 months and partner with 3rd party vendors, business partners and IT stakeholders to design and build enterprise Vacation Analytics, reporting and AI capabilities in our Azure data platform. S/He will oversee the design, architecture, and implementation of RCG data products for revenue management, supply chain, eCommerce, Consumer, Sales, Call Center, etc. This role will be responsible for coordinating with Reservation Modernization stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate deliverables. S/he will be responsible for growing and mentoring team members and align with strategic direction for the data engineering goals.

This role will require some international travel for meetings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads, motivates, coaches, empowers a team or multiple teams in the design, build and delivery of enterprise class data products that are reusable and non-perishable using industry and RCG best practices and standards
  • Leads multi-functional large-scale projects through close collaboration with multiple engineering, technical program management, analytics teams, and product managers on security, tools, architecture, planning, and delivery of multiple concurrent projects
  • Establishes and ensures best practices for the software development lifecycle including solution architecture, build, and test
  • Establishes operational and technical strategies for Data Engineering including the development of standards, roadmaps, and delivery.
  • Develops and leverages collaborative relationships within and across the organization to build solutions that will enable data analysis, exploration capabilities to add business value to RCG achieve results.
  • Provides technical leadership in building foundational systems designed and developed for the enterprise
  • Develops project and funding proposals for programs that provide continuous delivery of cost-effective data solutions that meet business requirements
  • Develops and track staffing plans and ensures the team is adequately staffed with skilled professionals.
  • Leads recruitment efforts to attract, retain high quality and diverse talent
  • Encourages and inspires others to imagine better approaches, create solutions, embrace change, and facilitate change to achieve business outcomes.
  • Drives the maturity and adoption of our current analytics capabilities by progressing from traditional BI to true Analytics to take advantage of the emerging technologies around Descriptive and Predictive Analytics.
  • Anticipates and analyzes trends in technology while assessing the emerging technologies impacts
  • Works with product and enterprise teams via both Agile and Waterfall Methodologies

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage labor and non-labor budgets of $2M USD or more
  • Develop business case and cost/benefit analysis for capital requests, support operations spending and data engineering initiatives.
  • Responsible for defining optimization opportunities to manage expenses

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10 + years working with Data Engineering, Software Implementation, Enhanced Reporting Analytics and/or related experience in Data Analysis and/or data management solutions
  • Technical capabilities in: Informatica, Azure Data Factory (ADF), DataBricks, MS Azure, Oracle Exadata, Hadoop, Big Data, NoSQL, PL/SQL, SQL, T-SQL
  • Excellent in managing teams both technical and business and providing guidance and motivating the team to deliver and perform.
  • Proven leadership skills in Project Management, resource management, tool recommendations and implementation methodologies, System Health Check and Roadmap Strategy, Customer Strategy and predictive Modeling and Analytics.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Expertise in data analysis, data integration, data modeling, data auditing, customer segmentation, analytical reporting, survey analysis, key drivers, analysis, dashboards, technical troubleshooting
  • Expertise in leading teams optimizing ETL processes, developing data & analytics solutions and platforms to solve complex scenarios in an agile manner.
  • Have a proficient understanding of how to architect a clustered environment to process the variety, volume, and velocity of data that will be ingested
  • Experience with any Cloud (AWS, Azure) provider
  • Experience with Agile/Dev Ops methodologies and tools
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective verbal, presentation, written and listening communications skills
  • Remain current with industry best practices, trends, innovation, and emerging technologies in data & analytics solutions and tools in the marketplace

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • The successful candidate must be able to sit for extended periods of time. Employees are required to attend meetings and work in conference rooms with others.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The position will require relocation to Trivandrum for at least 36 months and travel and to other locations, domestic and international.
