Rockstar Games is currently seeking a versatile and experienced Senior Generalist Artist to join our team and help bring our immersive game worlds to life. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled and adaptable artist with a deep understanding of both 2D and 3D pipelines, capable of contributing across environments, props, and characters.
This is a full-time, permanent and in-office position based in Rockstar’s state-of-the-art game development studio in Sydney, Australia.

- We create visually stunning and richly detailed open-world environments that support gameplay and storytelling at the highest level.
- We design, model, and texture everything from sweeping landscapes to intricate props and lifelike characters.
- We collaborate closely across departments to ensure assets meet gameplay, narrative, and technical needs.
- We uphold the quality, consistency, and artistic integrity that define Rockstar titles.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create high-quality 2D and 3D assets for use in environments, props, characters, and visual development.
- Work across a wide range of styles and visual targets while maintaining Rockstar’s artistic standards.
- Collaborate with Art Directors, Leads, and other disciplines to develop cohesive and engaging in-game visuals.
- Own asset development from concept to final implementation.
- Help define best practices and pipelines for asset creation and integration.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of professional experience in game development.
- A strong generalist portfolio that includes environments, props, and characters.
SKILLS
- Advanced proficiency in industry-standard tools such as 3DS Max and Photoshop.
- Experience with real-time engines such as Unreal or proprietary engines.
- A strong sense of form, scale, proportion, and color theory.
- Solid understanding of the technical constraints of game development and optimization.
- Deep passion for video games.
PLUSES
Please note that these are desirable skills and are not required to apply for the position.
- Experience working on AAA titles.
- Strong traditional art foundations (drawing, painting, sculpting).
- Familiarity with cinematic pipelines and visual storytelling.
