Rockstar Leeds is seeking a HR Manager to support our growing UK teams. This role will be the principal manager of all day-to-day HR needs for Rockstar’s Leeds Studio and will work closely with the wider UK HR team to ensure a consistent approach throughout all of our studios. We are looking for someone with experience working in a multicultural and vibrant environment who is keen to enhance their skills and experience within a diverse and varied HR role.
This is a full-time, permanent and in-office position based in Rockstar’s unique game development studio in the heart of Leeds, England.
WHAT WE DO
- The Rockstar Games HR Team is responsible for empowering our employees to reach their greatest potential and create the ground-breaking games we’re known for.
- We partner with senior leadership to drive proactive strategies of engagement, wellbeing, operations, and learning & development.
- We collaborate with our global HR Partners to develop new initiatives and programs to bring out the best in our teams.
- We ensure a safe, supportive, and inclusive working environment through guidance, compliance, and leading by example.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as a first HR point of contact for Rockstar Leeds employee and welfare queries.
- Line manage the HR Coordinator, supporting their ongoing professional development and act as a point of escalation.
- Advise, coach and support management on ER, disciplinary and grievance, and performance management issues.
- Ensure all people-related Rockstar policies and best practices are communicated and maintained throughout Rockstar Leeds.
- Manage the full employee lifecycle.
- Advise on and handle employee relations as well as casework and understand when and where to seek managerial or legal support/advice.
- Partner with our multiple stakeholders across the operational spectrum in both Rockstar and T2, including payroll, benefits, immigration, legal, compliance.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for HR systems, processes, and procedures.
- Focus on continuous improvement efforts to identify efficiencies and continue to streamline processes, while ensuring data accuracy for all stakeholders.
- Ensure all records are accurate and up to date.
- Work closely with the Admin, Workplace Services & IT teams in the day-to-day running of the Studio; maintaining a safe and secure work environment.
- Maintain and accurately process documentation and employee information on our HR Information System.
- Produce employee metrics using in-house reporting tools as required.
- Promote and support Rockstar culture within Rockstar Leeds.
- Support the internal immigration requirements ensuring compliance with current legislation.
- Apply knowledge and experience to help identify ways to improve HR processes and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS

- HND/HNC/Degree educated with a HR related discipline (or similar).
- CIPD accredited.
- At least 5 years’ experience working at HR Management level.
- Excellent understanding of current employment legislation and best practice.
- Proven experience in organising and prioritising workload, as well as managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communicator both verbally and written.
- Adaptable and confident dealing with various stakeholders of all levels.
SKILLS
- The successful candidate will need to be a flexible self-starter with strong initiative, excellent organisational and multitasking skills, capable of working autonomously, managing and prioritising their own workload and understanding when and where to seek guidance and approval.
- The candidate must effectively drive Rockstar initiatives and must maintain an excellent working relationship with other Rockstar studios global and local management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must. Confidentiality, diplomacy and commitment to the needs of Rockstar are essential.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel).
PLUSES
Please note that these are desirable skills and are not required to apply for the position.
- Previous HR experience within the Creative Industries – video games, film, television, music – would be beneficial.
- Experience using Workday HR information system.
