Rockstar Games are looking for an intuitive and solution-oriented leader to oversee our global Performance Capture facilities. This person will run our Long Island production facility, managing team leads and supporting their professional development while also managing technological and facility support across all capture locations globally.
This role will report to the VP of Performance Production and will work with global motion capture technicians, postproduction, R&D, and Tech Art teams through all phases of development for our projects.

This is a full-time, in-office position based out of Rockstar’s performance capture studio in Bethpage, Long Island.
WHAT WE DO
- The Global Performance Capture team at Rockstar collaborates with directors, animators, and artists from around the world, working to produce the substantial range of character animations required for our games.
- We work with bleeding-edge technology to both inform and capture our actors’ movement, facial and audio data to create photo realistic content in our games.
- The team fabricates sets, customizes hardware, creates props, and utilizes every tool possible to achieve the highest standards for our shoots.
- We capture the core data that serves as the backbone for story and in-game character animations across all of Rockstar’s titles.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively oversee Leads across Motion Capture, Virtual Production, Build, and Digital Media to manage work assignments.
- Coach, mentor, and develop teams to ensure growth and consistency across all Rockstar's global capture facilities.
- Supervise staffing and task management across all phases of our development cycles for all projects.
- Support the SVP and VP of the Performance Production department to manage and deliver on their commitments to ensure work in our capture facilities is handled efficiently and with great care and consistency from prep phases through principal production on all projects.
- Act as a liaison between Tech Art, Tools, IT, Media Systems, Engineering, and other departments on technological evolution and integration for our global capture facilities.
- Oversee maintenance, operation, and development of mocap-related technology and global stage pipelines.
- Work collaboratively with IT and R&D to ensure performance needs are met.
- Conduct budget planning, purchase approvals, and track spending across all of our capture stages.
- Guide facility operations, buildouts, and workflow design to support overall production needs for our global capture facilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of experience as a people manager with a track record of proven results.
- Established background in leadership with track record of building and levelling up strong team members.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships, influence, and partner with stakeholders across technical and creative disciplines as well as executives to maintain excellence and provide consistent results.
SKILLS
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to understand and articulate complex ideas and influence others.
- Exceptional people management and development skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to solve complex problems.
- Ability to pivot and adjust priorities while projecting calm and steady leadership.
- Excellent troubleshooting abilities.
- Able to act with discretion when handling confidential matters.
PLUSES
Please note that these are desirable skills and are not required to apply for the position.
- On-set experience in live performance (Motion Capture or Performance Capture is preferred).
- 5+ years working in parallel entertainment industry such as an animation/vfx house post-production house, or film/television studio.
- A graduate degree in business, entertainment, technology, or an equivalent.
- Skilled with Shotgun/Shotgrid or other project management programs.
- Working knowledge of Unity or modern game engines.
- Expertise with some of the following technologies: virtual production, photogrammetry or audio/visual systems.
- Knowledge of mocap-related technology and global stage pipelines (mocap, scanning, vcam, digital media, CNC/3D printing, live stream, etc.).
- A passion for video games.

The pay range for this position in New York State (inclusive of New York City) at the start of employment is expected to be between the range below* per year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
