The Reliability team at Robinhood is a fast-growing group focused on enabling our engineering organization to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-quality systems. Our mission is to improve the resiliency of our systems through software—providing tools, frameworks, and strategies that help teams across the company build and operate dependable services. We work cross-functionally with product, platform, and infrastructure teams, and foster a culture of curiosity, humility, and reliability-minded thinking.
As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of software engineers(SWEs) focused on company-wide reliability initiatives. Your team will build systems and processes to raise the reliability of all services and infrastructure at the company. You will lead defining the scaling and resilience strategy and influence company wide adoption of it. You will be building a layer on top of the observability primitives to provide value added services in the realm of reliability such as using distributed tracing to generate service dependency graph etc. You'll drive strategic planning, technical direction, and execution across some of the company’s most critical workflows.

What you’ll do
- Lead and grow a team of software engineers focused on building reliability platforms and developer infrastructure.
- Drive development of tools and systems for staging environments, load testing, fault injection, observability, and incident analysis.
- Partner with product and infrastructure teams to embed reliability-minded practices into their workflows and architectures.
- Guide strategic planning, set team goals, and execute on a roadmap that aligns with Robinhood’s reliability goals.
- Foster a high-EQ, inclusive, and collaborative team culture focused on trust, learning, and sustainable engineering.
What you bring
- Experience managing software engineers in platform, infra, or reliability-adjacent domains, ideally in high-growth or 0→1 settings.
- A deep understanding of distributed systems, observability, incident management, and fault tolerance strategies.
- Proven ability to build systems that support testing and validating code in pre-production environments.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
- High emotional intelligence and a track record of fostering credibility and trust across diverse teams.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. This role is also eligible to participate in a Robinhood bonus plan and Robinhood’s equity plan.
