The Physical Security team is responsible for designing and deploying security solutions that protect Robinhood’s global offices, employees, and physical assets. We aim to set a new standard in physical safety by implementing forward-thinking systems and processes while working cross-functionally with IT, Facilities, Legal, and Compliance teams.

As a Physical Security Systems Architect, you’ll lead the design, implementation, and scaling of our physical security systems worldwide. You’ll manage system architecture within Genetec Security Center, oversee installations, and partner across departments to ensure all security technologies are aligned with business needs and industry best practices. This is a hands-on, high-impact role that blends strategy, engineering, and operational execution!

This role is based in our Menlo Park, CA; New York, NY; and Chicago, IL offices, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

What you’ll do

  • Design, implement, and manage physical security systems, applications, and integrations across global Robinhood offices

  • Program and administer Genetec Security Center: configure readers, door controllers, alarms, access levels, licensing, and system updates

  • Integrate AI, machine learning, and IoT tools to enhance system workflows and monitor infrastructure health

  • Collaborate with Corporate Engineering and InfoSec to ensure infrastructure resiliency and security

  • Lead installations, commissioning, and acceptance testing for new office builds and expansions

  • Provide Tier 2/3 technical support and troubleshoot complex systems issues

  • Develop automations, process improvements, and documentation to scale global operations

  • Maintain detailed SOPs, system diagrams, and performance metrics

  • Travel as needed for system deployments and on-site assessments

 

What you bring

  • Undergraduate or higher degree in Computer Science, MIS, Technology, or equivalent professional experience

  • 7+ years of experience designing and supporting complex physical security environments

  • Deep expertise in Genetec Security Center (active Genetec certifications strongly preferred)

  • Experience supporting distributed global offices and infrastructure

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to operate independently during incidents or emergencies

  • Comfortable working off-hours as needed to support global operations

  • Willingness to travel to other offices, including nights/weekends based on operational needs

In addition to the base pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus opportunities + equity + benefits.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected base pay range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.

$116,000$137,000 USD
