The Brokerage Control Specialist will provide oversight of our broker dealer shared services across business line, middle and front offices. In this role you will be responsible for working with shared services teams supporting the broker dealer among other business lines including account onboarding, asset movements, CX, communications, compliance, risk, product, marketing/growth, engineering, and others, while applying broker dealer best practices for real time, daily, management oversight, control of critical functions and certain supervision.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to multitask, cope with change and adapt quickly. They will draw on their broad knowledge of brokerage operations and relevant regulations to promote new automated processes and increase safety and efficiency across the platform.

What you’ll do

  • Partner with Risk to provide and advise on operational controls/gaps to risk owners, senior leadership, and other key stakeholders.
  • Manage operations and control infrastructure development life cycle from inception, launch, ownership handoff within planned timeline and budget.
  • Ensure operations and control infrastructure projects are properly represented and considered in product development, planning and strategy.
  • Work with data science and tooling teams, others, to develop a highly automated control management system.
  • Track and advise on completion of shared service responsibilities/SLAs and ensure timely and accurate reporting on daily, weekly, and monthly cadence.
  • Prepare and lead monthly senior brokerage management supervision oversight meetings for certain shared services under Master Services Agreement.
  • Participate in product + growth development projects by assessing control needs in order to build out and scale operational processes.
  • Extensive use of data analytics and automation to optimize controls and reduce overhead on operation teams.
  • Engage with risk related teams to contribute to risk assessments and development of a control library.
  • Apply tests and validations of certain data sets to ensure broker dealer operational and supervision integrity.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational processes to boost efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.

What you bring

  • 7+ years in financial services operations environment
  • Active Series 7, 24
  • General knowledge of brokerage operations, middle office functions and relevant industry regulations.
  • Ability to effectively manage dynamic situations, rapidly adapt, and multitask
  • Strong Attention to detail
  • Strong self-starter that is able to take initiative and work independently
  • Strong technical and data management skills
  • Solid communication skills and proven ability to work in cross functional environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Management Information Systems, or Business Management
  • SQL, Python or MS Access knowledge

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. This role is also eligible to participate in a Robinhood bonus plan and Robinhood’s equity plan. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.
