Figuring out what’s “best for the company” always begins with thinking about what’s “best for players.” Every policy or contract that we draft; every lawsuit that we file or defend against; every letter we send; and all the legal advice that we give to our partners, must always be done with our players’ interests in mind.
Riot is now creating more content than ever before. We transformed from a one-game company to a studio with multiple games. As a Senior IP Administrator, reporting to the Head of Legal for Games and IP, you will ensure our trademark portfolio helps Riot get to the next level.
Responsibilities:

- Manage Riot’s trademark portfolio consisting of 9,000+ filings
- Support approximately 50 trademark practitioners globally, making recommendations to the Head of Legal for Games and IP regarding utilization of a multimillion dollar budget to ensure cohesive portfolio of protection
- Make dozens of decisions each week, and ensure attorney escalation as needed, on trademark prosecution and enforcement matters, including: Disclaimers, Goods and services amendments (nuanced because of language differences), Oppositions against third parties where applications may impact our rights, Arguments against trademark office refusals on both absolute and relative grounds
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years experience working on trademark prosecution at a reputable firm or company
- Strong background and knowledge of global trademark prosecution processes
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working at or with a major video game publisher or media company
- Experience with copyright registration process and/or patent prosecution process a plus
