As an Engineering Manager, you’ll offer creative solutions to organizational design. You’ll also serve as a mentor for engineers, guiding their performance and finding growth opportunities while delivering technical solutions that support Riot’s ability to serve our players.
As a Manager, Software Engineering on the Global Player Support Team, you will report to the Senior Engineering Manager for the group . You will lead the team using your deep knowledge of scalable service development and web best practices to help us build and deliver world-class support experiences to players around the globe. You will be involved in architecting the next generation of our player-facing ecosystem - ensuring players can get the help they need where they need it.

- Manage a team of 4-6 engineers
- Work with team leaders to create an organizational and staffing plan that supports product goals
- Support engineers' careers through mentorship and identifying growth opportunities
- Manage the team's health and performance from a place of empathy
- Support your team by working collaboratively with product, delivery, technical, and quality leads
- Interview and recruit new engineers to meet the changing needs of the team
- Support the engineers with your own deep engineering expertise
- Stay hands-on with your team's tech, overseeing the technical design and deliverables of the team
Required Qualifications:
- 6+ years of professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of experience directly leading and mentoring an engineering team
- Experience delivering rich web-applications and microservices
- Strong proficiency in web best practices (SEO, CDN, SPA)
- Expertise in project management, prioritization frameworks and guiding investment strategies in people and systems.
Desired Qualifications:
- 2+ years leading full stack web development
- Experience with Java, GraphQL, ReactJS, and Typescript.
- Experience with headless CMS solutions like Sanity
- Experience with CRM solutions like Zendesk
- Experience working with global customer support organizations.
