The Senior Product Manager - Smart Connected Products is responsible for defining our strategy and roadmap for capturing value with our Rheem Lifetime Value strategy. It will focus on our value proposition, go-to-market approach, channel partnering, and solution landscape to create a lifetime connection and experience with our product customers and installers. Activities include developing a product roadmap, conducting competitive benchmarking, identifying, and filling product gaps, leading cross-functional teams in developing new products and digital solutions, managing product cost and profitability, monitoring and adapting the product portfolio strategy for smart connected products, leading project management work, and providing marketing support for commercialization, pricing, sales, training, literature, and promotions.

This position will serve our Water Heater Division, located in Roswell, GA.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Engage directly and deeply with customers to uncover needs and requirements, in order to develop a winning product roadmap for our connected products space
• Oversee the product life cycle and manage the development, profitability, and market share growth of assigned products categories.
• Support project teams with deep insights on controls functionality, app experience, digital tools, sensor technologies, data solutions, etc.
• Define and drive the product roadmap for the part of the portfolio that focuses on our clients Cloud and its SaaS offerings
• Develop digital service initiatives for a specific set of growing business units at our client
• Develop enterprise solutions with UX in mind for multi-device support
• Partner with cross functional teams to complete project justification analysis via ROI & payback periods and develop project buy-in.
• Develop and maintains a product road map that positions Rheem to win in the marketplace, drives customer centric innovations, ensures P&L growth, and includes the latest VOC input
• Lead cross-functional team on product development projects ensuring project schedules are created, updated, maintained, and followed.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, sales, and purchasing to drive cost reduction activities to maintain and grow product portfolio profitability.
• Partner with marketing to provide the sales team with the necessary sales knowledge, training and materials enabling them to sell the product.
• Review and analyzes product data, keep sales team up to date on new developments regarding the company's or competitor's products.
• Lead competitive benchmarking activities to identify and address product gaps such as product teardowns, PEP process, customer interviews, online research, and other benchmarking methodologies.

Qualifications:

WHAT YOU NEED

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.

• 10+ years of experience in product management, marketing, sales, and engineering related fields.

• High technical aptitude

• Able to work with cross-functional teams (e.g., product managers, engineers, marketing teams) and external subject matter experts

• Experience working within Cloud, SaaS, and emerging cloud use-cases for web/mobile and enterprise companies

• Passionate about building and owning innovative, customer facing products

• Strong proficiency in launching products and new features in web, native iOS, and Android

• Experience in agile software development. Able to adapt to change and open-minded

• Experience and understanding in advanced technology areas such as Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning and Internet of Things (IoT)

• Great presentation and communication skills

• Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
  • Ability and flexibility for Domestic and International Travel approximately 30-50%

HOW TO STAND OUT

• Excellent understanding of the smart grid eco-system, including field equipment, grid monitoring and control systems

• Good understanding of behind the meter Distributed Energy Resources (including EV, solar inverters, batteries), and how those DERs are changing the utility power delivery model

• Background in connected, smart home controls

• Familiar with utility challenges, use cases, and market opportunities, in addition to utility business case modeling

• Master's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.

• Sales, marketing, or HVAC / Water Heating industry experience preferred.
