The Commercial Sales Engineer will confer with field sales teams, contractors, and engineers to assess their commercial HVAC equipment needs and to determine system requirements. You will support the Air Division portfolio, Commercial DX including RTUs, AHUs, Commercial Split Systems, etc. in the 3-30 Ton Range. You will provide the required sales expertise to develop and support strategic account executive level business relationships, while focused on profitable results for our commercial equipment business. The Commercial Sales Engineer I will undergo blended training for up to 1 year between product management, application engineer, R&D, or shadowing a commercial sales engineer II or higher in another market before being placed in the market as Commercial Sales Engineer I.

This position will serve our Air Conditioning Division. This position has the flexibility to be fully remote. This position must reside in the Houston, TX area as defined by this Rheem Division.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Work closely with distributors to effectively promote, sell, develop, and implement programs, training, strategy, and support new product introductions
• Proactively identify potential market opportunities, including projects and major replacement opportunities, and work with distributors to target and win those opportunities.
• Become a "trusted advisor" through regular interaction including meetings with consultants, contractors and developers to build brand awareness, working in conjunction with the distributor for prequalification and develop application opportunities get the products specified (include technical where required) and assist distributors with submittals where required.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations through meetings, "lunch and learns", etc.
• Ensure mutual compliance with agreements and distributors with distributors, including delivery periods, payment terms and advertising plans (GDP).
• Work with all internal departments to ensure end-to-end customer satisfaction.
• Evaluate distributors' performance and identify and implement corrective actions where required, including identifying and assessing potential distributors.
• Prepare sales, forecasts, Consultant, Contractor and Developer reports and other reports on a regular basis.
• Actively participate and represent Rheem in local ASHRAE chapter
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

WHAT YOU NEED:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field

• Successful experience selling HVAC/R solutions (or related technologies) in the commercial segment to consultants, architects, and mechanical contractors or 1 year of internal rotational training

• Ability to build strong customer relationships, driving commercial equipment solutions.

• Ability to travel at least 50% of time

• Results and target oriented

• Strong written and oral communicator

• "Can do" entrepreneurial mindset

• Ability to quickly build rapport, relationships and trust within the Rheem team, distributors / partners and other stakeholders including consultants, contractors and developers.

• Ability to clearly communicate the business and products' value proposition and be able to confidently stand behind the product.

• Confidence to act autonomously and take decision within agreed boundaries to quickly resolve issues.

• Customer and solution oriented

• Ability to structure information and plan agendas.

• Ability to prioritize and rank opportunities based on resources and contribution.

HOW TO STAND OUT:

• Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field

• Technical HVAC/R sales experience within the geographical location of the position
