Group Coordinator I

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assists in organizing and delegating the responsibilities and duties of the line staff / associates so the department runs efficiently and productivity is maintained.
  • Examines work of the department ensuring 100% accuracy in completion of all receipts.
  • Troubleshoots problems with the work process and relays this information to manager or supervisor.
  • Communicates receipt problems to external team (buyers, plants, parts claims). Works through solutions with external team.
  • Assists employees with work process problems.
  • Directs the proper stacking, labeling, put away, and quality for all receipts processed through the department.
  • Effectively maintains work area.
  • Interacts with all areas of the department to understand issues and assess needs to improve consistency and integrity of processes.
  • Interacts with all areas of the facility to understand where departments intersect and ensure efficient communication where intersections occur.
  • Provides training to new hires and existing employees. When necessary, provides performance feedback on co-workers .
  • Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills. Stays current with developments within the manufacturing and distribution field and shares expertise with others.
  • Exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others, and works to maintain constructive working relationships.
  • A commitment to company wide quality and safety is required. Brings safety concerns to manager or supervisor's attention
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of distribution warehouse procedures, practices, and regulations.
  • Ability to communicate with management, colleagues, line staff, and individuals outside the company in order to meet departmental goals.
  • Strong analytical skills with a methodological approach to problem solving and implementation.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and/or facts and recommendations effectively.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret related documents.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in MS Office Products, ERP and WMS knowledge.
  • Ability to manage groups through project implementation.
  • Excellent follow-up and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently with little direction.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Two years of experience in a lead or supervisory position preferred
