Overview
The IT Compliance Specialist plays a key role in strengthening and maintaining the IT compliance posture for the North American region of Rentokil Terminix. This role involves the rigorous application of IT governance frameworks and ensures adherence to regulatory requirements and internal controls. The Specialist will contribute directly to mitigating IT-related risks by driving specific control implementations and ensuring transparent reporting, often acting as a subject matter expert for particular compliance domains.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead specific IT compliance initiatives and projects, often guiding other team members or coordinating activities for complex assessments.
- Champion the implementation and adherence to IT General Controls (ITGC) and other relevant internal controls within the IT environment.
- Act as a subject matter expert for a defined set of IT General Controls (ITGC) or regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, country-specific assessments), providing guidance and ensuring adherence to relevant standards for control owners.
- Execute advanced IT General Controls (ITGC) testing for assigned functions, ensuring compliance with external audit standards.
- Conduct in-depth analysis and documentation of IT compliance requirements, standards, and controls, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and regulatory mandates.
- Proactively assess IT risks, identify complex control gaps, and propose and implement effective remediation strategies.
- Coordinate and manage audit activities with stakeholders, serving as a primary point of contact for specific audit requests and evidence gathering.
- Collect, track, and analyze IT audit findings and compliance gaps, identifying trends and potential systemic issues.
- Drive the mitigation, tracking, and reporting of IT audit findings and compliance-related remediation efforts, escalating risks as necessary.
- Develop and present comprehensive reports and metrics for various audiences, from operational teams to leadership, to clearly communicate compliance status, areas for improvement, and emerging risks.
- Contribute to the documentation and continuous improvement of IT policies, standards, and relevant guidelines related to compliance, often authoring specific sections.
- Routinely monitor compliance with IT policies, standards, and controls, proactively addressing any deviations or discrepancies.
- Drive best practice in control operation and implementation in line with group standards, fostering a culture of compliance across IT functions.
- Contribute to the central register of IT Audit actions, Red Team Exercise actions, IT Risk actions, and other IT Compliance-related actions in North America.

Candidate Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with GRC and/or audit management systems is a plus.
Experience
- 7+ years in technology, with at least 5 years specifically focused on IT governance, risk, and/or compliance.
- Demonstrated experience in leading or coordinating compliance activities within complex IT environments.
- Experience with IT governance and compliance management, leveraging industry frameworks and regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX).
- Experience in working in IT Governance and Compliance frameworks such as ITIL.
- Ability to work broadly across IT functions with at least an intermediate level of understanding of how each function works.
- Ability to facilitate and organize compliance activities to meet regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Ability to develop reports and metrics for varying audiences, from leadership through operational teams.
- Ability to partner with IT and business functions to report and track compliance-related issues.
- Experience with IT policies, standards, and relevant guidelines documentation.
- Relevant compliance or audit certifications (e.g., CISA, CRISC) are preferred.

Base Pay Range $92,700- $120,500 / year
While starting pay falls within the given range, it can vary based on factors like geographic location, skills, education, and experience. Total earnings may also be affected by overtime, incentives, commissions, performance, and route assignment (where applicable).
