Job Description

As a Senior Tax Associate, you will play a crucial role in the Finance Department by assisting with federal and state tax compliance, quarterly and annual tax provision preparation, tax research, and other tax-related projects. You will work closely with the other members of the tax department and the broader accounting organization.

In this role as a Senior Tax Associate, you will:

  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly and year-end ASC 740 tax provision computations and documentation.
  • Assist with the preparation of federal, state, and international income tax compliance, including preparation of extensions and estimated tax payments.
  • Assist with tax purchase accounting, acquisition integration, and other tax projects that arise during the course of business.
  • Prepare and review sundry tax filings for the business, including excise tax filings, property tax returns, and various business license filings.
  • Research and respond to sales tax questions submitted by internal and external customers.
  • Support the sales tax function, ensuring that sales tax permits remain current.
  • Maintain and reconcile tax depreciation and amortization schedules.
  • Research and resolve tax notices received from various jurisdictions.
  • As needed, conduct tax research on other issues and share findings with the tax department and other members of the organization.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations.
  • Utilize accounting and tax software, including NetSuite, Floqast, OneSource, Vertex, and Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and Renaissance clients to provide exceptional service and support.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment within the tax department.


Qualifications

For this role as a Senior Tax Accountant, you should have:

  • Working knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code and Regulations in addition to US GAAP
  • Minimum of two years of experience in public accounting
  • Corporate tax experience utilizing knowledge of ASC 740 and US GAAP
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with OneSource Tax Provision/OneSource Income Tax software preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development and staying current with tax laws


Bonus Points for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification

Salary Range: $74,700 to $102,750 This range is based on national market data and may vary by location.
