Building new and more powerful safety and reporting tools that better meet the needs of Redditors
- Modernizing and scaling existing tools to serve all Redditors globally
- Working across teams to ensure initiatives are greater than the sum of their parts
- Empowering users with their own safety tools and content controls on Reddit - blocking, reporting, muting, etc
What You’ll Do:
- Work with cross-functional partners to develop, drive and execute a long term vision and strategy for Consumer Safety.
- Work with partners from product, design, data science, and other engineering managers to plan and execute on short and long term goals.
- Participate in the full development cycle: design, development, test, experimentation, and launch.
- Support a high-caliber full stack product team of backend, frontend, and mobile engineers.
- Coach and mentor engineers on the team to further their professional development.
- Set and enable a culture of metrics led execution, with efficient processes and strong levels of transparency.
- Set goals and targets for your team and establish a culture of focusing on impact.
What we are looking for:
- 2+ years experience in managing a team of software engineers
- 5+ years of experience developing large-scale distributed software applications (preferably products for end users)
- Experience building and cultivating high performing teams, through hiring, performance managing, and professional development
- Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks and keep projects on schedule
- Results-oriented with a strong customer and business focus
- Entrepreneurial and self-directed, demonstrated ability to innovate and bias toward action in fast-paced environments
- Ability to communicate and discuss complex topics with technical and non-technical audiences
- High empathy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to find compromise working across the entire engineering org
