The Software Engineer II is responsible for working with the development, integration and verification teams to develop software to improve the product, its testability and ease of verification.  This position works with complex software using databases and user interfaces to control electromechanical systems, robotics, and precision optical technologies. The Software Engineer II will work with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists and should demonstrate a strong analytical and problem-solving skillset, a willingness to learn, and an understanding of software/hardware development, integration and testing methodologies.
 
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
·         Perform code reviews during pull requests with senior developers to ensure code meets design and is correct.
·         Create unit tests in C# for code and merge code corrections as needed.
·         Develop software tools and simulators to further automate the DevOps pipeline to automatically integrate and test software builds.
·         Define and build an automated test infrastructure and contribute to the design and implementation of a robust automated test framework.
·         Perform requirements analysis and create detailed, comprehensive, and well- structured test cases using the created software tools and simulators.
·         Ensure appropriate test coverage by creating and executing automated tests.
·         Estimate, plan, and coordinate development and testing activities.
·         Debug software under test to perform root cause analysis on defects.
·         Follow good documentation practices for capturing design, test results and defect tracking
 
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
·         Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
·         2+ years of experience in C# with exposure to code development, unit testing, and test automation.
·         Strong understanding of software development life cycle including testing methodologies, standard QA processes, and software release cycles.
·         Knowledge of C# and one or more of the following languages: Python, C++, Java.
·         Medical Device development and verification experience a plus.
·         Familiarity with requirements management tools such as Jama, DOORS or equivalent.
·         Understanding of Agile/Scrum/Kanban development practices.
·         Excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and strong work ethic.
·         Experience with change control and tracking systems such as Agile, Jira, Azure DevOps.
·         Experience working in a fast-paced environment producing high quality software.
·         Experience in SQL Express/SQL Server, XML, WPF is a plus.
·         Understanding of Windows/Linux operating systems, Network & email protocols, a plus.
