VP of Engineering, Prague

Rapid7 is seeking a VP of Engineering to oversee the development of the core SaaS capabilities across the Rapid7 platform in our newest location, Prague. We are looking for a technology leader with a proven track record of growing and developing high-performing engineering teams, with a focus on operational excellence, resiliency, and quality. This role puts you in the driver's seat to work directly with customers to ensure that their experience using the Rapid7 platform is driving impact in their security programs, working closely with stakeholders across the business to drive engineering strategy and execution in alignment with this mission.

• Set the bar and drive accountability for operational excellence in engineering, driving resilience, performance, and quality initiatives in partnership with the broader organization
• Partner closely with Product Management, UX, and other stakeholders to establish strategy and roadmap commitments.
• Develop and maintain technical strategy and establish execution plans to achieve roadmap goals, driving high-fidelity commitments and standards for delivery.
• Grow and develop both technical and leadership skills locally and across the organization to create a thriving culture for both individual contributors and team success.
• Invest in recruiting and developing the current and future stars of the engineering organization as the company and team continues to scale in Prague.
• Engage directly with customers to incorporate their feedback and remove points of friction from their product experience.
• Ensure efficient and scalable development, testing, and deployment processes to maintain and improve product reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Collaborate with support teams and cross-functional teams to ensure that customers have a seamless experience when they need help with our products.

• 10+ years of global development and agile engineering leadership experience at scale.
• Technical Expertise: Proven track record to build, deliver, and run complex enterprise-class SaaS at scale. Excellent knowledge of cloud-native technologies, microservices architecture, and containerization. In-depth understanding of cybersecurity principles, threats, and industry best practices.
• Organizational Leadership: Experience growing and developing a diverse, distributed, thriving team of leaders and engineers.
• Collaboration: Ability to engage closely with customers, and to influence cross-functional partners across product management, support, strategy, and other areas to ensure alignment on the priorities of the engineering team to promote customer success. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
• Results Oriented: Proven history of leading and managing engineering teams to build and ship high-quality products/platforms in a fast-paced, continuous deployment environment.
• Strategic Orientation: Solid facility with following and synthesizing strategic trends in your industry, and dynamically setting courses as required to ensure that engineering enables the company to respond to those trends and the resulting customer needs.
