Rapid7 is presently assembling a new development team in our Prague office to rebuild our flagship marketing website on a modernized marketing technology stack to better support the ambitious digital strategy being developed by our digital marketing teams.
About the Role
Rapid7 is looking for a Lead Web Engineer to join the Web Development & Operations team as it continues to grow and advance the organization's digital strategy and technologies. We need a team player with solid web development skills to ensure high quality delivery of experiences to both customers and prospects. The ideal candidate is someone who can contribute to a team tasked with delivering robust technical solutions, solving system and business problems and implementing world class digital experiences.
In this role, you will:
- Participate in projects from start to finish including technical requirements gathering, data modeling and deployment
- Be involved in driving the design and planning of upcoming features
- Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers
- Assist and in some cases lead operations staff in troubleshooting environment issues
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively to meet our stakeholders' delivery expectations.
- Detailed design, development and unit / integration testing utilizing the appropriate methodologies, technology and tools
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and business needs; communicate technical solutions with non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate effectively with design, QA and content/brand team members
- Maintain technical excellence in the execution and the delivery of implementations of varying scope
- Independently estimate and manage assigned tasks
The skills you'll bring include:
- 8 to 10 years of experience with back end development on web sites/applications including including 3-5 years working with a content management system
- Recent experience with headless/decoupled architectures and related CMS platforms is highly desirable
- 5 to 7 years of experience with JavaScript development preferably back end/server-side
- Experience with various web application architectures and technologies and a solid understanding of current front end web technologies
- Frontend development will not be required of this role but an understanding of modern web technologies/architecture is a must.
- Comfortable implementing and interacting with REST web services
- Familiarity with infrastructure design, devops and version control (git) within an Episerver environment
- Excited by technology, curious and eager to learn, with the ability to mentor more junior members of the team
