University Recruiting Intern

Job Summary:
Rakuten is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented University Recruiting Intern to join our team for the spring 2026 semester. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in campus recruiting and talent acquisition. The intern will play a crucial role in supporting our campus event schedule as well as student engagement and outreach to ensure a seamless experience for potential candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent Rakuten at virtual and in-person campus events (i.e. information sessions, career fairs, etc.), engaging with students and promoting our brand and opportunities.
- Manage communication to potential candidates via our recruiting listserv, intern alumni newsletter, and university recruiting email address.
- Manage university recruiting brand merch, ensuring all event supplies are organized, inventoried, and ready for use.
- Coordinate the shipping and receiving of event supplies to and from various campus locations.
- Assist with posting job roles on the Handshake platform and other relevant job boards.
- Support early preparation of summer intern program events.
Qualifications:

- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Strong Organizational Skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with the Handshake platform is a plus.
- Previous experience in Human Resources is a plus.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in progress
This is a part-time position with a minimum of 25 hours/week. The anticipated dates for this internship are January 12, 2026 - April 17, 2026. Pending success, this internship may be extended through August 2026.

At the time of posting, Rakuten expects the hourly rate for this role will be between $20 - $25 per hour. Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location.
