SUMMARY

Rakuten is seeking an experienced, hands-on technical leader responsible for leading a group of network professionals to assess business requirements, plan, design, implement, and manage the enterprise networking solutions. The Network Manager is also responsible for the operations of all networking assets in the North America region and will work collaboratively with cross-functional and global teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees network operations team productivity and performance using various tools and reporting methods, reviewing key metrics and trends.
  • Ensure the deliverable of a professional and high-quality network architecture solutions and services.
  • Manages staff development, helping team members set and achieve career growth goals.
  • Works closely with senior leadership to identify, implement, and support cost-effective, leading solutions.
  • Helps define strategic directions, goals, and objectives for the Networking team.
  • Ensures network operations' availability, performance, and operational integrity by managing and supporting network assets.
  • Works closely with Managers of Infrastructure and Application teams to support the company's DR strategies, Network capabilities and functions.
  • Collaborates with relevant stakeholders, providing direct technical support and consultations for incident, problem, and change management processes for all wired, wireless, and network service issues.
  • Continuously assess capacity requirements to align with budget planning.
  • Maintain up-to-date system and network documentation and inventories.
  • Provide advanced notification of planned system and network outages and set realistic availability expectations. Assess technical risk and develop mitigation plans.
  • Research and evaluate new technology and tools to drive innovation and excellence.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN/SD-WAN, Network Management, Data Center Technologies, Capacity & Service Continuity Management, Virtualization, Data Management, Risk Management.
  • Knowledge of Aruba Silverpeak, Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper Mist, LAN/WAN, and Security configurations.
  • Knowledge of protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, RIP, IGMP). Advanced knowledge of network services (DNS, DHCP, Active Directory).
  • Strong experience in disaster recovery and cloud-based infrastructure and applications.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills, ability to partner and work with various internal and external teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of building and installing data infrastructures, wireless systems, network security infrastructure and controls.
  • Strong understanding of technical troubleshooting methodology.
  • Ability to facilitate problem solving among administrative groups with varying needs and priorities, and to communicate well with administrative users, technical staff, and senior management. Expert knowledge of practical application of network technology.
  • Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills across organizational boundaries, as well as good organizational, project management, team building, people/customer service skills and staff management experience.
  • Ability to work with a range of technical staff to develop joint solutions.
  • Ability to achieve efficiencies through workflow improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of management experience in IT Infrastructure management and Network Operations.
  • Experience in leading network infrastructure projects, network data center design, WAN Design, mentoring engineers and creating/maintaining network diagrams and documentation.
  • Experience with the use of Project Management methodologies and tools (Jira).
  • Management experience in LAN/WAN/SD-WAN, Network Management, Data Center Technologies, Capacity & Service Continuity Management, Virtualization, Data Management, Risk Management.

Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location. The successful applicant for this role will be eligible for discretionary bonus, health, vision, dental insurance, 401k matching, PTO, Volunteer Time Off (VTO), and other employee benefits as the company implements.

USD $103,680.00 - $193,428.00 annually
