JOB SUMMARY:
This opportunity is part of our Cloud Infrastructure team. The responsibilities of this team include all cloud infrastructure operations, implementations, and service-oriented infrastructure strategies. The team supports the production cloud infrastructure, compute, data storage, and network connectivity for on-prem data centers and public clouds via our global backbone. You'll be contributing to a wide range of projects ranging from automation, monitoring / telemetry, security auditing / governance and cloud platform infrastructure management services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Day to day administration of various cloud and infrastructure technologies including Linux (Ubuntu, Centos, KVM), Networking (Cisco, Juniper, Cumulus, Citrix) and cloud platforms AWS, Azure, GCP, OpenStack, k8s
- Work with senior staff to perform updates and upgrades of the Rakuten cloud infrastructure systems, networks, platforms (e.g., release, update/patch, version control, inventory assessment)
- Collaborate with senior staff to build a new developer platform service that offers resources on both private and public cloud infrastructure
- Contribute to cloud infrastructure automation (Networking and/or Linux) and help with the improvements related to CI/CD (Jenkins, Git workflow)
- Work collaboratively with the offshore operations team and contribute to in-house documentation and tools to support their daily troubleshooting
- Participate in efforts to design, develop, and maintain the infrastructure management systems on multiple cloud platforms
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Academic understanding of cloud / infrastructure with previous hands-on experience working on servers, networks or DevOps tools (personal, school or professional projects)
- Familiarity with public cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure or GCP, and container technologies, such as Kubernetes, AWS EKS, GCP GKE, Docker and Nomad
- Experience writing Python scripts
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required
- Strong analytical, quantitative, problem solving, and conceptual skills required
- Must be detail oriented and able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- Must be able to work independently and in a team
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in information technology, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field
- Relevant prior internship experience (preferred)

At the time of posting, Rakuten expects the base compensation for this role to be within the range shown below. Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location. The successful applicant for this role will be eligible for discretionary bonus, health, vision, dental insurance, 401k matching, PTO, Volunteer Time Off (VTO), and other employee benefits as the company implements.
USD $79,200.00 - $133,540.00 annually
