Sales Development Representative
Overview
Rain Bird is seeking a results-driven Business Development Representative to join our Landscape SBU Inside Sales division. Our team is responsible for identifying and creating new qualified opportunities for our field/outside sales team. As an BDR, you will manage outbound campaigns by qualifying opportunities and identifying decision makers to successfully position Rain Bird’s value propositions. You will play a pivotal role in expanding our market presence, by nurturing key relationships, and driving sales growth for industry leading hardware and SaaS solutions that solve real customer problems. Responsibilities
- Supports regional business development efforts to grow sales in key channels and verticals.
- Leverage industry leading tools to identify best fit targets and deploy creative gaining access sequences and campaigns.
- Make 40+ outbound phone calls each day to prospective clients in the United States for key regional accounts.
- Generate and qualify new leads for our field sales organization by effectively building relationships and uncovering pain points with multiple customer persona types.
- Achieve and exceed weekly/monthly metrics i.e. (calls, emails, leads sent, qualified leads, etc.)
- Contribute to maintaining our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and other tools by updating account records, tracking interactions, and following up on qualified pipelines with field sales partners.
- Travel up to 10% may be required to attend customer meetings, internal training, and/or industry events.

Qualifications
- 0-2 years of experience and/or internships in sales, business development, marketing, and/or similar roles.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or related field.
- You are comfortable making cold calls, challenging the status quo, and open to coaching to support development.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- You have a desire to accelerate your sales career and are self-motivated to achieve lead quotas.
- Proficient in using sales engagement tools and CRMs to manage sequences, activity, follow-up actions, etc.
- Ability to demonstrate active listening, and critical thinking to come up with compelling reasons for prospects to change now.
- Desire to grow your career and assume roles of greater responsibilities.
