Production Supervisor

Overview
The Production Supervisor is responsible for fostering a performance-driven and continuous-improvement environment for production operations and has accountability for the safety, quality, delivery, and productivity performance of the group under responsibility.
This role is for 2nd shift- Typically 2p-10p
Responsibilities
- Supervises manufacturing activities in a plastic injection molding and packaging environment. Manages all productivity and quality-related issues within the manufacturing team
- Serve as the voice of the operation, coordinating with maintenance, quality, safety, and engineering personnel
- Hires, develops, and trains direct labor personnel
- Monitors production, technical, and support personnel
- Ensures that safety regulations, regulatory controls, policies, and procedures are followed
- Initiates and documents Safety hazards, Corrective Actions, and ensures on-time completion
- Initiates and oversees quality and process improvements
- Leads and carries safety and quality process auditing
- Monitors and reports on shift-related key performance indicators (KPI’s), including scrap monitoring, and Overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Undertaking special projects as required
- Promote and use techniques for continuous improvement such as Six-Sigma and Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing)
- Work and rotate between day shift and night shift based on business needs in a 24/7 operation.
- Ensure compliance with the production schedule.
Qualifications
- BS or BA degree
- 3 plus years of supervision experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment
- Strong lean manufacturing and six sigma knowledge
- Experience leading improvements processes in quality, productivity and safety.
- Excellent people leadership skills
- Experience managing production schedules
- History of increasing responsibilities with proven track record of achieving good results
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post graduate education or MBA degree
- 5 plus years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Prior Plant Management and budget responsibility
- Automation implementation experience
- Lean or Six Sigma Certification
- Experience in injjection molding and/or extrusion
- Bilingual - English and Spanish
