Execute large scale data migrations. Analyze, manipulate, or process large sets of data using statistical software. Work with product teams in a consultative role to plan for data needs in new and existing products. Use strong communication skills (written and verbal) to participate in data governance initiatives. Take part in operational support of Quizlet’s databases. Help drive decomposition of our databases as part of our shift to a microservice Architecture. Design and maintain high availability cloud-based database systems in GCP or other cloud platform. Utilize and apply knowledge of SQL and understanding of query planning. Partial telecommuting permitted; on-site at 123 Townsend St, Ste 600, San Francisco, CA 94107 when not remote. Salary: $194,834 – $250,000 per year.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree or U.S. equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, plus 7 years of professional experience Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, or any occupation/position/job title performing infrastructure engineering or software development.

In lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus 7 years of experience, the employer will accept a Master's degree or U.S. equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science or related field, plus 5 years of professional experience Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, or any occupation/position/job title performing infrastructure engineering or software development. 

Must also have experience in the following: 5 years of professional experience utilizing SQL and performing query planning; 3 years of professional experience performing programming utilizing Apache Airflow or Command Line; 3 years of professional experience designing and maintaining high-availability cloud-based database systems utilizing GCP or AWS; 5 years of professional experience operating and optimizing RDBMS; 3 years of professional experience working with Kubernetes and IAC (Infrastructure As Code) tools including Terraform or Helm; 5 years of professional experience utilizing programming languages (including Python); 3 years of professional experience using DBT or Jinja to create data transformations.
