Inventory Control Specialist II

Billerica, MA

To continue our solid growth, we are seeking a talented and highly motivated Inventory Control Specialist II to join our growing organization. This position will be part of our Supply Chain team and have the primary responsibility for inventory control activities across the site. This individual will collaborate across instrument and reagent manufacturing, warehousing and global logistics to drive inventory accuracy & control across the network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Daily cycle counts in Manufacturing and Warehouse; backup QC.
  • Calculate and order material in advance of Pilot & Manufacturing builds.
  • Place internal orders for manufacturing & Pilot teams.
  • Perform COT checks and complete custom FRM-0250 daily or as needed.
  • Real time review of manufacturing transactions for accuracy.
  • Assist in the creation and updating of the inventory strategies for the site.
  • Execute the cycle count program in coordination with Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Production Planning functions.
  • Investigate inventory variances, determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform, maintain, track and report inventory adjustment and relevant findings.
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs & WI's) and business processes related to inventory control activities and manufacturing.
  • NCMR and Deviation closures for materials that need to be quarantined and scrapped.
  • Track and remove expired materials.
  • Equipment calibration log and PMs.
  • Move material down to kitting & retain areas.
  • Manage the ECI retains.
  • Review of docs when needed.
  • Assist in kitting and Manufacturing when needed.
  • Engage and train employees on inventory related processes with a focus on resolution of issues/discrepancies via corrective actions as needed.
  • Recommend operational process improvements and develop strategies to enhance performance, systems, accuracy levels and inventory touch points.
  • Manage integrity of inventory data in ERP and defines and implements inventory control KPI's and reporting dashboards.
  • Hels support new product launches/implementation from an inventory perspective.
  • Set inventory operational guidelines and procedures for employees to follow.
  • Align with demand planner, supply planner, inventory planner, and buyer in the planning and execution of the supply chain components of product strategy in support of the program goals and KPIs.

Skill and Knowledge Requirements:

  • Excellent organizational, record keeping and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well within cross-functional teams as a team player.
  • Possess an ability to learn and master complicated concepts quickly and comfortably.
  • Ability to generate high quality data under tight deadlines, and a collaborative, proactive attitude.
  • Expertise in Excel
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good computer and database skills

Minimum Experience and Education:

  • High School / GED required. An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, systems engineering, supply chain management or similar is preferred
  • 3+ years prior experience in materials management, or materials and production planning, preferably in the life sciences industry.
  • cGMP Experience preferred
  • ERP/MRP experience required with Syteline experience preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Position requires the ability to lift and move heavy objects. The position requires physical, and manual labor to accomplish many responsibilities.
  • Stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, bend, kneel, hear, and talk.
  • Close Vision
  • Operate computer/office machines
  • Ability to wear personal protection equipment

Travel Requirements:

  • < 5%
