You will analyse client needs (scoping, materiality and gap assessments), offer technical interpretation of respective (regulatory or voluntary standards) and use technology to design and embed data and reporting systems, processes and controls in a target operating model.

The Opportunity

As a Sustainability - Reporting & Assurance Intern, you will engage in sustainability reporting and assurance projects, gaining exposure to the intricacies of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues. You will support our teams in delivering impactful sustainability solutions to our clients, contributing to the development of sustainability strategies and reporting frameworks. As an Intern, you will focus on learning and gaining exposure to PwC's practices, supporting teams with basic tasks, and participating in projects. This role emphasizes the importance of adopting a learning mindset, actively listening, and applying professional standards to contribute effectively to team success.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work within the Assurance practice, where you will develop your skills in data analysis, materiality assessments, and sustainability reporting standards. You will be part of a dynamic team, where your contributions will support the delivery of high-quality sustainability reporting and assurance services. This experience will allow you to build your personal brand and prepare for future opportunities in the sustainability field.

Responsibilities

- Supporting sustainability reporting and assurance projects by assisting with data collection and analysis
- Participating in the preparation of sustainability reports in alignment with established reporting standards
- Conducting research on climate finance and sustainability materiality assessments to inform project strategies
- Assisting in the evaluation of internal controls and technical accounting processes related to sustainability initiatives
- Engaging in data modeling to organize and structure sustainability data effectively
- Collaborating with team members to develop technical solutions for sustainability reporting challenges
- Observing and learning from experienced professionals to gain insights into sustainability practices and methodologies
- Contributing to the development of nature and climate reporting frameworks through active participation in team discussions

What You Must Have

- Currently pursuing or have completed a Bachelor's degree in at least one of the following field(s) of study: Accounting, Sustainable Resource Management, Environmental Science, or Finance
- At least a 3.0 overall GPA
- Client service intern positions are entry-level roles intended for job seekers who are in their third year of a four-year degree program or fourth year of a five-year program at the time of application Winter internships typically occur during the spring semester preceding the student's final year of school Summer internships typically take place during the summer preceding the student's final year of school

The salary range for this position is: $29.25 - $48.00. For roles that are based in Maryland, this is the listed salary range for this position. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.
