POSITION TITLE: Sr. Manager Product Development/Sourcing LOCATION: New York, NY ___________ POSITION SUMMARY: The Sr. Sourcing Manager is responsible for category management and supporting business strategies in conjunction with the supply chain initiatives. This includes leading functions related to sourcing, product development, pre-production/production, and meeting organizational KPI's. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB: Strategic

  • Clear understanding of divisional goals (quantitative & qualitative) and seasonal strategies.
  • Understanding competition and macro-economic landscape; keep abreast of industry trends, trade regulation etc.
  • Manage total cost of goods/IMU for their business unit.
  • Collaborate and drive process innovation & improvements.
  • Drive calendar discipline (adherence & mitigation where needed).
  • Lead meetings with cross functional/global partners to ensure alignment on business process, special projects, KPIs, etc.
  • Manage & develop direct reports.
  • Develop and manage point to point vendor relationships.

  • Engage at all stages of development to ensure vendor strategy supports product & business needs.
  • Lead discussions with Design & Merchants regarding cost challenges and provide cost estimates/engineering opportunities to ensure targets are met.
  • Spearhead product allocation based on vendor strategy, cost targets & supplier capability with the goal of executing best in class product at a fair/competitive price.
  • Own status of prototypes & salesman samples as well as identification of mitigation opportunities for any delays.
  • Serve as the business-facing PD/Sourcing lead in brand meetings/porotype & sms reviews/ adoption & line finalization meetings.
  • Lead efforts around product innovation/new ways of working.
  • Drive interaction with raw materials, technical design, and operations; providing manufacturing & supply chain expertise to address any development/production concerns to ensure best in class product execution and on-time delivery.
  • Interface with cross functional teams on any product, quality, or delivery issues, and offers possible options to resolve.
  • Work in conjunction with planning lead on seasonal capacity planning/actualizing forecast accuracy, utilization of any material balances, and fulfillment of capacity gaps.
  • VMS system management to ensure on-time delivery & mitigate where possible.
Costing
  • Create cost-guidance tools for Raw Material & Design teams to reference when building product into designated cost buckets.
  • Maximize gross margin opportunities through leverage, product re-engineering, and product versioning (where applicable).
  • Analyze/challenge costs prior to presentation to merchants (must be fact based and in line with the macro trends).
  • Establishes/maintains cost folio within approved vendor matrix.
REQUIRED SKILLS & CAPABILITY:
  • Must be analytical; understand global supply chain and how its inputs tie to business financials, KPI's & metrics.
  • Good judgment & decision making skills (with an ability to get to root cause analysis and corrective action planning).
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills (to include good listening & negotiation skills, must have the ability to present at leadership level)
  • Must be detail oriented, extremely resourceful, have excellent follow up skills; using all appropriate contacts to gather information & drive solutions.
  • Must be flexible and have the ability to function in a fast paced environment, with competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate and work as a team; transcending different cultures, geographies & time zones.
  • Ability to develop efficient processes, review & refine; always striving for continuous improvement.
  • Microsoft office is a must, PLM is a plus.

__________ QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Experience: Minimum of 10 -15 years experience in the Product Development, Sourcing, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain related space. Education: Bachelor's Degree is required.

Pay Range: $120,000 - $140,000
