About the role.

We are seeking a talented Director, Product Management for our High Net Worth Personal Auto and Personal Umbrella lines of business to support our growth and profit objectives. A key member of the management team, the Director will report directly to the VP, Product Management. PURE has offices in White Plains, Chicago, and Scottsdale, though other locations will also be considered.

What you'll do.

  • Lead a team of product managers. Set direction, engage and inspire the team, and manage to outcomes.
  • Analyze and monitor product performance, claims, loss trends, market conditions and competitor actions in assigned lines of business to inform actions on pricing, coverage, risk management and underwriting to achieve targeted growth and profitability, while delivering industry-leading customer experience.

  • Engage effectively with Actuarial to understand loss performance and set countrywide rate targets in collaboration with zone product managers.
  • Report on key metrics to provide the management team with clarity on the current and future performance of products.
  • Evaluate new product enhancement opportunities and produce market and competitor analyses, estimated premium volumes, losses, and implementation costs for use in planning and prioritizing.
  • Engage and explore external vendors for products and services that will enhance our current offerings.
  • Lead the development of new product offerings and enhancements, creating an action plan with owners and milestones, developing the product, and leveraging an effective network of relationships with IT, Underwriting, Claims and other relevant functions to bring the new features to market successfully. Analyze early performance and make any needed adjustments quickly and effectively.

  • What we're looking for.
    • 7+ years of progressively more responsible work experience in insurance product management, with at least some of that experience in Personal Auto and/or Casualty P&C lines. High net worth personal lines insurance experience preferred, but not required.
    • 2+ years of leadership is required.
    • Superior analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with a deep intellectual curiosity and an ability to make data-driven decisions.
    • Entrepreneurial orientation, ability to assess markets with incomplete information and develop strategies to compete effectively.
    • Excellent interpersonal, listening, written, and oral communication skills.
    • Agile learner who can quickly absorb information and apply it to current business situations.
    • Solid organizational skills and ability to balance multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
    • Demonstrate the highest levels of ethics, values, and integrity; should be highly respected within current/previous organizations as a trusted professional.
    • Capable of deep empathy and understanding of the needs of our customers. You should be an advocate for customers and passionate about our mission.
    • Must be able to lead through influence, rather than authority only. Collaborative and community-oriented; must be a team player and able to operate as a "player-coach."

    The base salary for this role can range from $140k-$160k, based on a full-time work schedule. An individual's ultimate compensation will vary depending on job-related skills and experience, geographic location, alignment with market data, and equity among other team members with comparable experience.
