JOB SUMMARY 
The Enterprise Architecture group at Pulte Financial Services (an affiliate of PulteGroup) is seeking an experienced Functional Architect to construct, communicate, and implement the functional framework for new and enhanced Title Insurance, Escrow, and Homeowner/Auto Insurance software applications. This position will focus on projects in the areas of Title and Insurance.It is hands-on and collaborative, and requires interacting with product management, product owners, architects, analysts, end users, and agile delivery teams.Projects may include extending current systems, migrating current systems to new architecture, business process automation, and third-party integration.
The ideal candidate will have a strong business focus and the ability to translate those needs into system impacts, business and functional requirements, data models, business rules, and conceptual system designs. The role requires excellent analytical skills and a solid understanding of software development and data.
PRIMARY RESPONABILITIES 
- Develop deep expertise in software applications and data supporting the Title and Insurance industry, including systems such as SoftPro, ResWare, Ramquest, or Qualia.
- Build strong interpersonal relationships across business and technical teams, confidently initiating conversations to gather insights and requirements.
- Translate functional needs into comprehensive system solutions by:- Defining business needs and future vision
- Modeling current and future state business processes using BPMN or similar techniques
- Assisting product managers in defining scope and describing features
- Evaluating solution alternatives and guiding decision-making through tradeoff analysis
- Conceptualizing future state solutions using business process modeling, functional decomposition, state transition modeling, event modeling, sequence flow modeling, and logical data modeling
 
- Collaborate with agile software development teams to define system boundaries, integrations, events, and data structures, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture.
- Promote effective use of information systems and functional architecture best practices across the organization.
- Identify opportunities to incorporate AI tools to improve IT operations, automate workflows, and support data-driven decision-making. Assist in responsible AI adoption efforts.
- Provide strong functional and technical understanding of products and explore solution options to meet user needs.
- Support third-party software vendor selection activities, ensuring organizational fit and alignment with strategic goals.

REQUIRED EDUCATION
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related is preferred.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- 6+ years of experience in information technology with software development delivery, including roles such as technical product owner, programmer analyst, or architect.
- 2+ years of experience with Title software applications; expertise in platforms like SoftPro, ResWare, Ramquest, or Qualia is highly valued.
- Demonstrated analytical mindset with the ability to uncover true business needs and define future-state solutions.
- Solid understanding of software development concepts including APIs, services, domains, data structures, XML/JSON, and SQL.
- Experience with service-oriented architectures, business process modeling, software integration, and web technologies.
- Ability to synthesize complex concepts and present them clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to facilitate meetings and deliver presentations.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Passion for using technology to solve business problems and a strong desire to learn and contribute quickly.
