Senior Actuarial Associate - Retirement Strategies Institutional Methodologies

What you can expect:

  • Support development of models and methodologies to underwrite mortality for Institutional Retirement Strategies products including a new internal mortality underwriting model
  • Support the development of methodologies for new features of Institutional Retirement Strategies businesses such as Funded Reinsurance, Longevity Reinsurance (LRT), Pension Risk Transfer (PRT), and Structured Settlements including initiatives with the modeling team to streamline models and explore coding languages
  • Analyze GAAP and Statutory financials including VM-22 reserving as part of potential methodology changes for Institutional Retirement Strategies businesses
  • Monitor updates to Risk-Based Capital (RBC) factors and support development of methodologies to price future required capital
  • Provide actuarial analysis for ad hoc requests involving Institutional Retirement Strategies
  • Support pricing of Funded Reinsurance, Longevity Reinsurance (LRT), and Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) deals as a flex resource

What you'll need:

  • 2 or more years of experience in an actuarial or similarly quantitative financial field
  • Prior Annuities or Retirement experience is a plus
  • Passed at least 2 exams from the Society of Actuaries (SRM/PA are a plus)
  • Experience with data manipulation and analysis using Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Python, SQL, or VBA is a plus
  • Ability to act with urgency and deliver tasks within deadlines
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Intellectual curiosity to try to understand the bigger picture even when not required to complete smaller tasks and a problem-solving mindset to proactively propose solutions when issues arise
  • Hybrid employee preferred.

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $97,300.00 to $144,900.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
