Position Overview:

The Cost Optimization and Performance Management (COPM) expense team is responsible for planning, forecasting, financial reporting, and business measurement for the Group Insurance (GI) Business. We are looking for a Planning & Analysis Specialist to help us in achieving GI's expense management financial objectives. This essential role reports to the Manager of Planning and Analysis supporting our Product and Distribution divisions and involves developing multi-year forecasts, driving cost efficiency, and improving performance.

Responsibilities include the reporting and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual results, along with multi-year forecasts for the business. Collaborating closely with business leaders, you will support controllership, financial reporting, planning, and consolidation activities for the Group Insurance business.

What you can expect:

  • Responsible for the Monthly and Quarterly Expense and Headcount results for assigned function(s) within Group Insurance. This includes:
  • Monthly close responsibilities for accruals, reclass journal entries and reconciliation of vendor and other chargeback expense.
  • Monthly analytics against Plan and Forecast.
  • Produce, distribute and meet with business partners to review results.
  • Calculate and input accurate Expense, Headcount and Allocation data for reporting.
  • Assist business partners in the Budget and Forecasting process. This includes:
  • Communication of business assumptions.
  • Support budget and forecast input into the forecast modeling tool, leveraging various inputs including capacity models.
  • Understand, document, and analyze business drivers, volume assumptions and financial impact of special projects and initiatives.
  • Assist in sizing cost savings opportunities.
  • Provides ongoing ad hoc financial support and is financial resource for business partners, assists with and monitors cost/benefit analysis and business case creation.
  • Responsible for conducting and documenting moderate to complex financial analysis projects in the areas of management reporting, strategic planning, and expense management, and assist in the preparation of presentations to senior business leadership.
  • Drive cross functional initiatives that may be business-as-usual, transformational, continuous improvement in nature and require automation skills.

What you'll need:

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or business-related field.
  • 2-5 years financial analysis or accounting experience.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to foster and build relationships across multiple departments.
  • Keen sense of curiosity
  • Strong knowledge of financial software and systems, such as Oracle ledger systems, MS Office Suite, and a continuous learning mindset.
  • Agile, organized, and structure-oriented, with the ability to prioritize and manage competing deliverables.
  • Sense of urgency to deliver quick turn-around as needed.

It'd be nice if you had:

  • CPA or MBA.
  • Public accounting experience.
  • Experience with Anaplan, Workday or Power BI.

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $72,900.00 to $108,600.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
