What you will do
This is a portfolio management role within the 26-person Securitized Products team at PGIM Fixed Income. The successful candidate will be responsible for trading, oversight, and management of the CMBS portfolio at PGIM Fixed Income with a particular focus on credit investments.
This position is performed in a hybrid manner with a mix of work performed from our office in Newark, NJ and remotely. Our organization follows a hybrid work structure where employees meet with their team in the office on set days of the week and can work remotely the remainder of the week. Working from the office is encouraged when working on tasks that require a high degree of collaboration and may be required during group specific events (Town Halls, etc.).
What you can expect
- Work closely with the CMBS research team to identify relative value opportunities and generate buy/sell trade ideas to optimize portfolios and generate alpha
- Present investment thesis and positioning to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain relationships with sell side firms, issuers, and other buy side participants
- Influence the buildout of new technologies to facilitate portfolio management and underwriting processes
- This is a hybrid role based in Newark, NJ with a requirement to be in the office from Tuesday to Thursday.
What you will bring
- 15+ years' of CMBS portfolio management and trading experience
- Experience across all subsectors of the CMBS market including: Conduit, SASB, CRE CLO, CMBX, and Agency CMBS
- Strong background in fundamental CRE credit underwriting and quantitative modeling
- Proven track record across market cycles and experience with workouts, distressed investments, and other special situations
- Deep network of relationships within the CMBS/CRE industry
- Ability to work well as part of a team and enjoy a fast paced, high intensity environment
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- BA/BS degree required (MBA, MS and/or CFA are pluses)
What will set you apart?
- Experience with structuring private transactions
- Familiarity with the European commercial real estate
- Underwriting and/or loan origination experience

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $200,000 to $225,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
