We are searching for a dynamic, forward-thinking Director of Responsible AI for US Businesses. This role requires a strong blend of technical proficiency, strategic planning, and a deep-rooted commitment to the ethical application of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of ethical AI strategies across the organization, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide thought leadership and guidance on AI ethics, including topics such as fairness, transparency, interpretability, privacy, and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ethical considerations into the design, development, deployment, and audit of AI systems.
  • Advocate for and educate on responsible AI practices both internally and externally, shaping the organization's public stance on related issues.
  • Keep abreast of new developments, trends, and legislation related to AI ethics and adjust strategies as necessary.
  • Develop and manage relationships with stakeholders, including employees, customers, regulators, and the public.
  • Coordinate with legal, compliance, and risk management teams to ensure AI technologies do not infringe on legal rights or breach regulatory requirements.
  • Establish metrics and reporting systems to track the effectiveness of responsible AI initiatives.

The Skills and expertise you bring:

  • Master's degree in computer science, AI, Ethics, Law, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in AI Ethics, Data Privacy, or related areas are a plus
  • Demonstrated experience in AI, machine learning, or data science, ideally with a focus on ethics or responsible AI
  • Strong understanding of AI technologies and their ethical, societal, and legal implications
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards ethical AI practices
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to navigate regulatory environments and drive compliance in complex, technology-driven organizations

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $148,800.00 to $201,200.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
