Instruction and Assessment Coordinator

Propel Schools is currently seeking an Instruction and Assessment Coordinator. The Instruction and Assessment Coordinator analyzes data and works with the Academic Team and School leadership teams in understanding assessment data to generate effective responses to the scholars' needs.

In addition, the Instructional and Assessment Coordinator supports curriculum and instruction in alignment to Propel's data and state standards/eligible content. This support will be conducted through curriculum development and revisions, professional learning, and coaching. The content area focus for this position is dependent each year on network and school-wide data indicators.

The Instruction and Assessment Coordinator is a year-round position.

Total Rewards:

  • Compensation: Propel provides a competitive salary for Coordinators. Credit is given for transferrable experience to ensure that you are compensated generously.
  • Health Insurance: Medical, dental, and vision plan options at a low cost for individual employees and families.
  • Retirement: New hires participate in a 403(b); Propel contributes 5% automatically and matches up to 4%. This increases after 5 years.
  • Paid Leave: In addition to 16-19 paid holidays annually and 2 paid Wellness Days, all Coordinators and School Psychologists receive 5 sick days and 10 Personal Days. Coordinators and School Psychologists also accrue 6 hours of vacation time per pay period.
  • Tuition Assistance: Reimbursement of up to $3,000 annually upon completion of course and receipt of grades for coursework that meets our eligibility requirements.
  • Wellness Benefit: Reimbursement of $20 per month for wellness activities including Gym Memberships, health programs, etc. Additionally, staff have the ability to earn up to $300 for participation in a Wellness Program each year.
  • Professional Development: At Propel, we believe in supporting staff growth and provide substantial school-based and network-wide professional development support for Coordinators.
  • Leadership & Career Development: Leadership opportunities are extensive at Propel, both in and outside of the classroom. There are opportunities for additional school-based leadership roles.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews curriculum and instructional practices to ensure standards alignment
  • Aligns resources to support instruction and learning
  • Creates professional learning around curriculum, best practice and standards alignment
  • Implements coaching cycles in collaboration with content directors and school leaders
  • Supports the development and implementation of positive and productive testing environments
  • Supports the coordination and the administration of statewide assessments, including preparation before and follow up after testing windows to include CDT, PSSA, Keystone, and other local assessments as needed
  • Extracts, reviews and analyzes data, and supports educators and leaders with data literacy skills
  • Performs other responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Director of Academics

Skills

  • Exceptional communicator who can recognize the needs of various stakeholders and problem solve effective solutions.
  • Technology savvy for web-based instructional techniques and tools, computer proficiency, including Google Applications, and internet tools.
  • Knowledge of DRC portal and reporting systems.
  • Experience in analyzing data and using results to provide intentional instructional moves to help every scholar succeed
  • Excellence in time management, organization, multi-tasking, prioritization, and follow-through
  • Successful experience with providing professional development to improve instructional effectiveness
  • Models a Growth mindset - Belief that you will be better at your job tomorrow than you are today. You seek feedback, are eager to implement it, and are unafraid to push yourself, your team, and our schools and network to improve.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Education
  • Previous experience coaching ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies Content Areas
  • Previous experience organizing testing for CDT, PSSA, Keystone and local benchmark/diagnostic assessments
  • Level II Certification; 7-12 Math Certification Preferred
