PROGRAM END DATE (Last Day Students in Session): July 19, 2024

EMPLOYEE START DATE: June 27, 2024

EMPLOYEE END DATE:July 19, 2024

MANDATORY TRAINING DATE: June 27, 2024

DUTY DAYS/HOURS:Monday - Friday 9 AM - 12:30 PM

LOCATION(S):Cleveland, Franklin, Jefferson, McDaniel, Roosevelt

All positions are contingent on enrollment of students. It is essential that applicants remain available until the registration process is complete. We will, however, make earlier commitments as definite positions become evident.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

These positions are for the Leap into 9th Grade summer program which will focus on preparing incoming 9th grade students for high school success using a curriculum that includes growth mindset, math content with AVID strategies, and career exploration. The program will combine core academic content with an introduction to the school's culture, and will develop students' ownership of their own personal and academic growth mindset. Students may receive a .5 elective credit.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide consultation to school teams and families to develop crisis intervention plans, safety plans and provide community resources for students and families in crisis
  • Provide consultation and support to school staff in supporting students with complex mental health needs
  • Create and maintain partnerships with community based organizations and agencies, state and county agencies, hospitals and other school districts/programs
  • Manage and support all aspects of complex cases for out of district or privately placed PPS students.
  • Provide consultation on IEP services, accommodations, interventions and placement to school teams, regional sped teams and other PPS departments
  • Consultation/Liaison on Special Education Law and procedures to outside agencies and organizations that work with students and families,

MINIMMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Candidate must hold any of the following
    • A TSPC Personnel Services License issued by the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) with a School Counselor, School Psychologist or School Social Worker endorsement
    • A Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) License issued by the Oregon Board of Licensed Social Workers
    • A Professional License issued by the Oregon Board of Licensed Counselors and Therapists
  • Knowledge of classroom behavior management strategies, social skills curriculum, and NCI training.
  • Knowledge of community resources, understanding and interpreting psychological reports effectively to others, and provide family, individual, and group consultation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Training and/or experience in a similar classroom setting.
  2. Bilingual/Bi-Cultural Chinese, Russian, Somali, Spanish, and Vietnamese applicants are highly desirable.


PAY RATE: Current PPS PAT Educators who hold a regular school year position will be paid their current hourly rate of pay, but not less than the hourly summer school rate. All other hires (including current PAT Educators in a temporary assignment) will be paid $47.25 per hour.
