As a Data Science Group Manager within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Dallas, TX, Tysons Corner, VA or Cleveland, OH. The position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities may be performed remotely, at the manager's discretion.
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Data Product Leader to drive the strategy, development, and delivery of data products for PNC bank. You will be responsible for defining and executing a roadmap that leverages data and AI to solve business challenges, enhance customer experience, and create a competitive advantage within the financial services industry.

Key responsibilities:
• Define and Evangelize Data Product Vision and Strategy: Develop and communicate a clear vision for the bank's data product portfolio, aligned with overall business goals and regulatory requirements.
• Lead the Full Data Product Life Cycle: Drive the end-to-end development of data products, from ideation and requirements gathering to launch, adoption, and iteration.
• Translate Business Needs into Actionable Solutions: Partner with stakeholders across various lines of business (e.g., retail banking, wealth management, corporate and investment banking) to understand their data needs and translate them into concrete product requirements.
• Champion Data Quality and Governance: Ensure data products meet high standards of quality, reliability, security, and compliance with financial regulations and ethical data practices.
• Foster Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a central hub, effectively bridging the gap between technical data teams (e.g., data engineers, data scientists) and business stakeholders.
• Build and Mentor a High-Performing Team: Recruit, develop, and manage a team of talented data product managers, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
• Monitor Product Performance and Drive Improvement: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of data products and continuously iterate based on feedback and performance analysis.
• Stay Ahead of Industry Trends: Maintain a deep understanding of the latest advancements in data, analytics, AI, and related technologies within the financial services sector.
Preferred skills and experience:
• Deep expertise in data product management, including defining vision, developing roadmaps, and managing the product lifecycle.
• Strong knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance principles within the financial industry (e.g., SEC, FINRA, GDPR, CCPA).
• Familiarity with data architecture, data pipelines, analytics tools, and potentially machine learning and AI concepts.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders.
• Proven ability to translate complex data concepts into clear business language and actionable strategies.
• Demonstrated experience building and leading high-performing teams.

Job Description
- Manages the priorities and strategy of data science activities.
- Provides senior leadership, direction, and methodology for Data Scientists to create appropriate models and data-driven solutions for the business.
- Recruits, trains, and develops best-in-class team(s) of Data Scientists.
- Works with executive leadership to identify data science project opportunities and leads planning activities including budget and scope determination.
- Oversees relationship with business and technology teams to develop data-driven solutions for the business.

Work Experience
Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree. Higher level education such as a Masters degree, PhD, or certifications is desirable. Industry-relevant experience is typically 8+ years. At least 5 years of prior management experience is typically required. Proven leadership experience with a moderate to large scope of responsibility is required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.

Pay Transparency
Base Salary: $100,000.00 - $234,600.00
Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
