As a Commercial Asset Analyst within PNC's CAT - Commercial Asset Team, you will be based in Birmingham, AL.

In this position you will be working with different lines of business and you will be assigned loans that are currently distressed. You will work to rehabilitate the loans, if possible, while mitigating loss to the bank. Knowledge of both retail and commercial banking are important for this role.

Job Description

  • Provides analytical support and ongoing administration of distressed accounts.
  • Prepares offerings and reports for senior team members to accurately recommend the proper risk ratings, accrual status and workout strategy.
  • Assesses borrower structure and financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements and cash flows. Evaluates overall strengths and weaknesses of the borrower. Reviews relevant documents and transaction deal structure.
  • Assists in the administration of an assigned portfolio, including the preparation of annual reviews and the satisfactory resolution of credit deficiencies, such as collateral exceptions and covenant violations.
  • Provides analytical support for validation of risk rating and regulatory requirements for each obligor and facility.

Financial Statement Analysis - Knowledge of tools, techniques, and practices, and ability to analyze and determine the credit-worthiness of a business enterprise through its financial statements.

Problem Solving - Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

Work Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree with < 1 year of professional experience and/or successful completion of a formal development program. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
