About the Role:
Planet is looking for a strategic and experienced Product Marketing Manager to help grow the market for our AI-enabled solutions. Powered by our vast archive of proprietary Earth data and deep product stack, our solutions enable customers to monitor patterns of life and detect rapid changes at any scale – from individually dispersed sites of interest to entire countries. We’re looking for a versatile Product Marketer who can effectively position these capabilities in the market, shape messaging, and help drive customer adoption across industries including defense, civil government, agriculture, energy, mining, environmental science, and other commercial enterprises.
This role sits on the Product, Industry and Partner Marketing team and is responsible for developing and maintaining core internal and external assets used by teams across the company. You will work closely with Product teams to synthesize complex technical information into clear and compelling narratives, partner with marketing teams to determine effective engagement strategies and arm sales with the right content and competitive insights to accelerate deal velocity and size.
This unique position offers the opportunity to play a central role in launching and scaling AI-enabled solutions that expand Earth data beyond traditional geospatial markets. You will advance groundbreaking solutions backed by proprietary data which create new capabilities for entire industries. Your work will be used by internal stakeholders at all levels and seen by decisionmakers worldwide.
The ideal candidate can rapidly grasp technical concepts and develop simple and effective narratives that resonate with both technical and non-technical audiences. This role is expected to routinely present internally and externally at events and webinars, and should be adept at public speaking and evangelizing Planet’s mission and solutions.
This is a full-time, hybrid role which will require you to work from our San Francisco or Washington D.C. office 3 days per week.
Impact You'll Own:
- Grow the market for our unique AI-powered solutions that deliver near-real time insights via automated change detection and time series analysis
- Support new go-to-market initiatives; assess gaps and identify opportunities for market expansion
- Partner with the Product and Commercial teams to develop enablement tools and training materials
- Monitor market trends and customer feedback to inform solution development and marketing strategies
- Produce and maintain a portfolio of standard global materials for our solutions including datasheets, demos, presentations, and case studies to support sales and marketing efforts
- Work closely with broader marketing teams (industry, growth, regional, customer, creative, and communications) to execute industry and regional marketing campaigns
- Deliver internal presentations and host customer-facing webinars
- Collaborate with technical teams to create interactive demos and narratives that showcase the power of our AI-enabled solutions

What You Bring:
- Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree
- 6+ years of product or solutions marketing
- Experience positioning and marketing AI-enabled products for B2G/enterprise customers
- Exceptional active listening and interpersonal skills
- Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills
- Creative and analytical thinking skills; ability to synthesize information
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience partnering with product, sales, and executive stakeholders and communicating across leadership
- Excellent organizational skills, self-starter with ability to collaborate across departments

- Deep understanding of Earth observation data
- Familiarity with cloud computing, platform development, and APIs
- Experience working with commercial and government stakeholders to drive adoption of geospatial data solutions
- Experience working with international sales teams

Compensation:
The US base salary range for this full-time position at the commencement of employment is listed below. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives (bonus and equity). The final salary range is determined by job related experience, skills and location. The range displays our typical hiring range for new hire salaries in US locations only. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
