The Senior Data Engineer plays a critical role in shaping and enhancing our internal data infrastructure and analytics capabilities with a focus on data warehousing and data modeling. This position propels the value of data through engineering, governance, quality assurance, stakeholder engagement, and advanced problem-solving to enable data-driven decision making within the organization. Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Leverage your extensive technical knowledge and hands-on experience in data engineering to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines. Extract, transform, and load processes, and data storage solutions, with a strong emphasis on data warehousing. Implement best practices for data engineering, optimizing performance, and scalability 
  • Lead the development of our data warehousing strategy, including data modeling and architecture. Design and maintain data models that facilitate data analytics, reporting, and machine learning. Ensure the data infrastructure meets the evolving needs of the organization, with an emphasis on data warehousing solutions 
  • Take the lead in ensuring data governance and quality standards are maintained throughout the data lifecycle. Implement processes to secure data integrity, data privacy, and regulatory compliance while providing data access controls and auditing 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, data scientists, and other business stakeholders, to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights. Effectively communicate data strategies, project updates, and data-related recommendations to non-technical stakeholders 
  • Tackle complex data engineering challenges with innovative and creative solutions. Diagnose and troubleshoot issues, identify bottlenecks, and develop strategies to optimize data processing speed and pipeline efficiency 
  • Mentor and guide junior data engineers, contributing to their professional development. Stay updated with the latest data engineering technologies and trends and share your insights with the team 
  • Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
  • Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) 
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering roles 
  • Proven expertise in data engineering, including extract, transform, and load processes, data modeling, and database technologies (SQL, NoSQL) 
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or Scala 
  • Proficient in data storage solutions, data warehousing, and cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Snowflake, GCP) 
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and compliance standards 
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a track record of designing and optimizing data pipelines 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to engage with non-technical stakeholders 
  • Experience in SaaS or similar industries is a plus

Compensation

  • Annual base salary: $180,000-$200,000
  • Target annual bonus percentage: 10%

 

*Starting pay will be based on several factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. We also have a location-based compensation structure; there may be different ranges for candidates by location.

 

Working Conditions:

The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
