Senior Staff Mechanical Engineer-Patient Interface
Job Description
Senior Staff Mechanical Engineer will play a critical role in improving and saving lives around the world through the design and development of Patient Interface Devices (Masks) used for the treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
Your role:
- Will act as a leader within the Patient Interface organization by coordinating and driving activities focused on the development of Patient Interface product concepts through Manufacturing and Production, Including-expertise in design, development, launch, documentation, and sustaining activities.
- Prepare and communicate project overviews and status reports to upper management.
- Lead planning, design, estimating resources, timeline, and cost estimates for projects of significant importance to the business.
- Provide project status updates, feedback, and recommendations to leadership.
- Lead in creating functional requirements, risk assessment, design reviews, verification & validation.
- Will use critical thinking to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Determination of concept feasibility via sound engineering judgment & prototype evaluation.
- Mentor others in technical discipline on problem solving and career development.
- Will utilize creativity, technical judgment, and the interpersonal skills required for the successful completion of multiple projects.

- You've acquired a minimum of 10 years' experience in Mechanical Product Design and Development for FDA regulated medical devices, with expertise in patient-worn medical products highly preferred.
- You have a strong track record as a prolific contributor to new concepts, products, and processes.
- You have proven expertise in complex problem solving by evaluating options and implementing solutions.
- You have proven experience leading new product development projects and the ability to balance technical solutions with business needs.
- You have a strong understanding of design for human factors (ISO 62366) and ergonomics.
- You have proven expertise with mechanical design/modeling tools such as Pro E/Creo, Solidworks etc...
- You have excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills for interaction with associates at all levels/disciplines, as well as reporting project status & conducting design reviews.
- You're able to thrive in a fast paced, team-oriented, new product development environment.
- You have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering- Mechanical, Biomedical, or Plastics (REQUIRED). Master's Degree (desired).
