Job Description

Senior Product Sourcing Engineer
Supports the Ultrasound Business annual operation plan by leading cross-functional procurement activities involving new product introduction, supply chain risk mitigation and productivity improvements. Candidate will be a key partner, achieving new product performance and cost-targets and portfolio cost improvement through analysis of technical product requirements and supplier selection.

Your role:

  • Drives manufacturability/value/cost engineering activities within DFX conventions and Value Engineering workshops, early supplier involvement in development projects, supply chain risk assessment and mitigation strategies, supplier strategy and supplier selection process in conjunction with commodity management partners.
  • Partners with R&D, representing Procurement in New Product Introduction projects, with Supplier Quality and Executes Advanced Product Quality Plan (APQP) factory related supplier improvement actions.
  • Aligns Ultrasound procurement needs with competitive landscape and technology roadmaps.
  • Support commodity management teams with specific product knowledge and opportunities to drive negotiation savings to drive short term and long-term product cost reductions.
  • Manages Product Costs within assigned commodity. Develops / maintains Should Cost Modeling to achieve challenging cost reduction goals.

1. Experience in understanding technical product requirements and translating it to minimize life cycle product cost, cost engineering and cost management. Practical knowledge of Supply Chain management strategies and tools. Experience with global supplier management- strategic and tactical.

2. 10+ years' experience in hardware design and/or matrixed manufacturing with a focus on supply chain and/or procurement related function.
3. Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering. MBA or Advanced Technical Degree preferred.
4. Ability to lead teams and influence cross-functional relationships. Excellent presentation, communication and negotiation skills, across functions and organizational layers
