Job Description

New innovations are driving rapid advances in healthcare, and product management is at the heart of managing this opportunity. As the thought leader in Philips in Product Management , you will provide leadership in product management in healthcare fields served by Philips' Businesses, elevating Philips to the first rank of healthcare companies in this discipline. You will understand new developments, such as generative AI , and enable business product managers to apply them to practical business needs and deliverable solutions. You will have the accountability to understand current and future business needs and opportunities and use this insight, together with your thought leadership, to define the capability roadmap. Product Management capabilities take the form of competencies, processes, tools, and data models that support Philips Businesses in achieving their performance outcomes and enhancing their strategic vision. You will have decision-making authority and accountability for ensuring that the choices made in Product Management capabilities are compatible with and supportive of business objectives. You will lead a team of domain experts. You together will work with cross-functional teams to translate these choices into plans, orchestrate development, and ensure delivery to the Businesses in line with quality and performance targets, while also maintaining the overall lifecycle of the capabilities.

Your Responsibilities
  • Provide content expertise to establish and support the adoption of standards, best practices, and governance for Product Management across the organization.
  • Lead and mentor a team of experts (capability owners) in Product Management, who will lead the development of innovation capabilities aligned with business strategy, and be seen as internal and external thought leaders.
  • Evaluate and recommend new or emerging tools and methodologies that can enhance Product Management and link to innovation.
  • Understand analyses of regulatory and ethical frameworks, with the impact and opportunities this represents.
  • Collaborate with the other Capabilities (Software, Systems, Data & AI, and Clinical) to embed Product Management concepts across disciplines.
  • Provide mentoring and coaching (indirect leadership) to product managers, engineers, and data scientists, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate and influence effectively with senior stakeholders, peers, and external partners. Act as the senior partner when engaging with relevant Philips suppliers and partners.
Key performance indicators for this role will include measures of:
  • Delivery of new capabilities to Businesses on time and with quality
  • Adoption/usage of Product Management capabilities by BUs
  • Achievement of measurable success of Product Management in the Businesses (outcomes).
  • Achievement of Business performance and strategic targets, enabled by these capabilities.
You're the right fit if you:
  • Are a recognized industry thought leader in Product Management in a global Healthtech / MedTech role (underpinned by new product introductions, or other verifiable track record).
  • Have an advanced degree in business or technical field or equivalent working experience.
  • Have 10+ years of progressive innovation leadership, with at least 5 years in senior product management innovation leadership. Experience in regulated industries is strongly preferred.
  • Know agile methods in software and systems engineering and intersection with product management.
  • Knowledge of Philips product management frameworks, business cases, methods, and connections to innovation processes is a plus.
  • Track record of incorporating new technologies to expand target markets and opportunity segments; for example, application of generative AI to propositions in healthcare.
  • Current understanding of evolving regulatory and data privacy frameworks, and how this affects value proposition development, company obligations, and risks.
  • Proven track record leading major change management programs in the deployment of cross-disciplinary innovation methodologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (written & verbal) skills, sensitivity to complex organizational structures, and varying cultures are critical. A demonstrated history of successfully working in globally distributed teams and interacting with executive/top management is required.
