Associate Corporate Counsel/ Senior Manager, International Compliance Investigations

Pfizer is seeking an Associate Corporate Counsel/ Senior Manager to join our APAC/ Greater China International Investigations Team. The role includes formulating investigative strategy, executing all investigative steps, working with outside counsel when necessary, and coordinating closeout of matters with business customers and other stakeholders. The position reports to the Global Investigations Team Lead for APAC and Greater China Region.

Location - Beijing/Shanghai preferred.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide support to Regional Compliance Directors in managing the China investigations docket and junior colleagues within the team.
  • Supporting and, in some cases, leading compliance investigations in China and working with senior level stakeholders (both in and out country), other Compliance and / or Legal Division colleagues, local and U.S. external legal counsel, and internal and external auditors;
  • Preparing materials summarizing investigative findings, ongoing market assessments, risk areas and impact on the Pfizer business locally and globally, with the ability to communicate information to local and / or global stakeholders, where appropriate.
  • Managing data from internal control findings and audit testing, and synthesizing that data in support of compliance investigations, as well as risk identification and mitigation efforts.
  • Managing and utilizing the investigation driven data to assist with reporting obligations to various stakeholders;
  • Leading certain efforts to partner with proactive Compliance leads and other stakeholders to remediate issues identified in investigations and ensure identified issues are properly remediated and risks appropriately assessed;
  • Participating in proactive compliance reviews in the market and in the Asia region, where needed; and
  • Partnering with Compliance colleagues and business leaders to develop and execute strategies to ensure colleagues in the market are aware of our systems and processes for reporting and resolving compliance issues and their responsibilities in that process

The candidate must have the following qualifications, skills, and attributes:

  • Minimum of 5-8 working experiences including at least 3 years' professional legal and / or investigative experience in China, with a preference for pharmaceutical industry experience;
  • Ability to lead colleagues in more junior positions and be a team player to resolve complex matters;
  • Excellent judgment, influencing skills and leadership abilities in working with different stakeholders particularly with Senior Leadership;
  • Excellent oral and written communication, analytical, organizational, and strategic thinking skills;
  • 25-30% travel throughout China, and internationally, as needed; and,
  • Mandarin Speaking Required. Multi-cultural experience and languages preferred.

Work Location Assignment: On Premise
