About the role
The In vivo Associate Scientist I position will execute in vivo support for pre-
clinical biomedical imaging and pathology studies toward pharmaceutical
discovery and development. Studies will include rat and mouse biodistribution,
disease model development, drug efficacy, and toxicology-like studies in
neurology, oncology, and other therapeutic areas. The qualified candidate will
implement animal models, and communicate data and project updates. This
position will provide an opportunity for growth and exposure to cutting-edge
sponsor research projects.
Meet timelines for pharmacological models and associated techniques
• Assess study protocols for experimental details
• Preferred functioning set of classical skills desired (rodent) but not
required, including but not limited to:
Blood collection techniques
Compound handling and formulation
Rodent husbandry
Biological sampling procedures
• With some supervision model execution of:
Efficacy studies
Biodistribution studies
Pharmacokinetic studies
• Ability to work with IACUC to implement and ensure compliance of
animal use protocols and SOPs.
• Work with some supervision to prioritize tasks according to study
timelines
• Communicate details of your work with scientists and managers
• With some supervision work with radioactivity, radioactive and BSL2
samples
Gamma counting
Sample disposition
Proper handling and disposal of associated materials
Qualifications:
Enrolled in an accredited undergrad or grad program in a related field,
biomedical engineering, medical physics, radiologic sciences, pharmacology, or
other engineering degree
Intern should be able to troubleshoot (problem solving) complex issues in
imaging lab with supervision
Comfort with various computer operating systems and programs
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to lift 50lbs
