The role of Cash Application Analyst is primarily responsible for day-to-day recording of customer payments, solving queries related to cash applications and coordination with customers for remit details. This role requires good understanding of O2C process, specifically cash application process involving research and application of unapplied cash, reconciliation of customer accounts, processing emails related to remittance advice from customers, etc.

Key Responsibilities

Recording of customer payments

  • Downloading the bank statements from the portals and timely recording of customer payments with high degree of accuracy.
  • Applying the customer payments to open AR invoices.
  • Research unapplied payments and work with customer to get the remit details.
  • Reporting of daily customer payments and bank balances to the management.

Business Skills

  • Work with internal teams to drive process improvements and resolve escalations and discrepancies on customer account.
  • Recommend process improvements to ensure accurate and timely recording and application of customer payments.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting and analysis.
  • Perform complex reconciliations on customer payments
  • Assist with other accounting and finance functions as needed.

  • Ability to perform a range of work activities in varied environments. May contribute to routine issue resolutions.

Autonomy

  • Working under routine direction. Uses limited discretion in resolving issues or enquiries work without frequent reference to others.

  • Understand the business drivers.

  • Carryout any other reasonable duties as requested.

Functional Competencies (Technical knowledge/Skills)

  • Proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Excel and Word or similar desktop application.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel - including working with pivot & formulas.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • A flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and new learning
  • Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritize workload with attention to detail
  • Demonstratable ability to apply critical thinking to problems and tasks

Experience, Education, and Certifications

  • Solid professional experience in the same or very similar role, preferably Life Science industry
  • Exemplifies traits of being a team player
  • With continuous improvement and critical mindset
  • Preferably with a bachelor's degree in finance/accounting as Major Subject.
  • English: Fluent
