Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader who thrives in complex, cross-functional environments and is passionate about driving value, compliance, and transformation across our global vendor landscape.

The Vendor Management Sr. Director leads a global organization responsible for managing PepsiCo's relationships with a wide portfolio of external partners, including technology vendors (software, platforms, implementation), managed service providers, and consulting firms. This leader is a key driver of our digital transformation agenda, evolving the vendor management function from traditional oversight to a strategic partner management capability.

In close collaboration with leaders in Global Procurement, Finance, and Technology, the role establishes and oversees a holistic governance framework for strategic partners to align on shared goals based on PepsiCo's tech strategy, drive productivity and supplier-driven innovation, and ensure operational excellence.

The Senior Director provides oversight for key functions including Vendor Strategy & Relationship Management, Vendor Governance & Performance Management, Strategic Sourcing programs, Software Asset Management (SAM), management of external labor, and governance of supplier management systems. The team leverages these platforms to provide real-time, actionable insights that mitigate risk, ensure compliance, and enable data-driven, strategic decision-making.

This is a highly visible leadership role that requires strong collaboration with senior S&T (Strategy & Transformation) and business leadership to maximize the value of PepsiCo's third-party partnerships and investments.

Responsibilities

Vendor & Relationship Management:

  • Establish and manage a holistic governance framework for strategic vendors to support PepsiCo's transformation strategy, drive productivity and innovation, and enhance operational excellence.
  • Forge deep partnerships with key vendors to co-innovate new capabilities.
    Engage senior leaders to ensure vendor strategies align with PepsiCo objectives.
  • Orchestrate strategic executive engagements (EBCs, Top-to-Tops) with key vendor partners.
  • Report on performance, value, and risk.

Cross-functional Governance & Vendor Performance Management:

  • Oversee and mature the Vendor Management function, fostering a proactive, data-driven approach to manage vendor performance, mitigate risk, and ensure compliance.
  • Lead Contract Governance Committees (CGCs) with Procurement, Finance, Technology Leadership and others to ensure aligned decision-making on vendor initiatives and to improve adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Deploy and manage performance management systems and integrated scorecards that leverage real-time analytics to monitor vendor KPIs; identifying and actioning supplier credits where applicable.

Value-Driven Strategic Sourcing programs:

  • Lead the development and execution of sourcing strategies for key categories, including technology and managed services, to optimize the vendor landscape in support of PepsiCo's transformation strategy.
  • In collaboration with procurement, drive the commercial strategy for major S&T contracts and transformation programs, including outsourcing and outcome-based managed services.
  • Develop and standardize best practices for sourcing projects by creating and implementing program management and transition playbooks.

Software Asset Management (SAM):

  • Partner with Finance, Procurement, and Technology service owners to identify and track cost-saving opportunities, leveraging data from VM tools to drive productivity and inform strategic investment decisions.
  • Oversee audit management to ensure compliance, mitigate financial exposure, and resolve audit findings
  • Define and execute the SAM system implementation plan to improve visibility into license positions, provide insights into consumption, and inform commercial negotiations for renewals and true-ups.

Management of external labor:

  • Develop and implement cost management initiatives and playbooks to drive external labor productivity.
  • Activate and manage flexible resourcing models to align vendor resources with fluctuating business demand.

Governance of supplier management systems:

  • Govern supplier management software products, ensuring system effectiveness and actionable insights.
  • Lead system-revamp initiatives to standardize processes and improve visibility over the external workforce.
  • Implement system dashboards to manage productivity initiatives, audit risks, and true-up exposure.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $151,200 - $300,000.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 35% of annual salary paid out annually and an additional target payout of 15% of annual salary is paid out over 3 years following the end of the performance period.
  • Long term incentive equity may be awarded based on eligibility and performance.
    Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading vendor management and strategic partner management functions at a global scale, covering technology and managed services.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing complex sourcing strategies that drive cost optimization, risk mitigation, and long-term value creation.
  • Experience fostering supplier-led innovation and managing co-development initiatives with strategic partners.
  • Deep working knowledge of Software Asset Management (SAM) principles and tools, with experience managing compliance and large-scale renewals.
  • Experience managing complex, multi-million dollar relationships with a wide range of partners, including major software publishers and service providers.
  • Proven experience communicating with and influencing C-Suite level executives.
  • Experience leading and managing cross-functional teams and large-scale organizational change initiatives.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, MIS, or related; a combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.
  • 15+ years of related IT and/or Procurement experience in areas such as strategic sourcing, vendor management, and IT transformation, with 10+ years in IT management.
  • Global team leadership and personnel development skills.
  • Exceptional influencing, negotiating, and leadership skills, with a proven ability to build consensus and drive decisions in a cross-functional, matrixed environment.

  • Strong financial acumen with experience in business case development and tracking ongoing ROI for technology investments.
